"Give me a moment, please!"Eyes shining with amusement, he perched himself on one of the barstools lined in front of the bar, resting his forearms on the wooden bar as he waited for Harry to emerge from the kitchen. "Hello, sorry for the inconvenience. Welcome to— Lou?" There was a smudge of flour dusted across Harry's nose, hair in disarray. He probably had been baking then.
He looked like the epitome of mess, with his stained and wrinkled apron and flour-dusted cheeks and hair, but Louis couldn't bring himself to care. "We're going on a date, c'mon." Harry bristled at that, fierce green eyes boring a hole in his face. "I'm working right now." The omega had his hands resting on his hips, trying to look all intimidating. Harry looked anything but terrifying but Louis didn't have the heart to tell him, so he settled for a thoughtless nod of his head, lips pursed to stifle his amusement.
"After your work then, I suppose?"
Harry nodded thoughtfully after a beat, deflating a little as he shuffled forward until he could lean against the bar top, rising on the tips of his toes to drop a greeting peck on Louis' lips. "Only have to finish icing a batch of cookies for a birthday party before I am off."
"I'll wait then." Harry grinned at that, nodding ebulliently before he was off. Not even a second after he had entered the kitchen, Harry was coming back to the front area with a flustered smile. "Do you need anything to eat or drink?" He settled for a shake of his head, the stupid smile never leaving his face. From an outsider's perspective, he supposed they surely looked like a doting pair of alpha-omega. The thought didn't scare him as much as it did a few months ago. In fact, it didn't scare him, at all. "How does tea and a muffin sound?" Harry didn't wait for his response, the omega nodding to himself just a second after finishing his question, "I'll send someone to you with that. Go sit at a table." Harry went back to the kitchen after that, not lingering around to hear his opinion on the very unasked food he was about to be forced with.
Begrudgingly, he got up from the barstool, plodding his way to an empty table near the tall windows. "Hello, Louis! Nice to see you after so long!" Oh, god. Just a moment of peace, that was what all he had asked. "Hey, Milinda." The smile slowly slipped off her face, a strained scowl taking its place. "It's, ugh— never mind. Harry sent me here to give you this." She slammed the plastic tray on the table with a frustrated huff, placing the cup of tea and the tiny plate containing a vanilla muffin in front of him before storming off. He was halfway through finishing his food when Harry finally came back to him, taking a seat across from him quietly.
Louis was quick to swallow the mouthful of muffin he had stuffed in his mouth, looking up at Harry who was staring at him with a small smile, his chin perched on his palm. "Where's Cliff?" Was the first thing that came out of his mouth, eyes scanning the deserted café for a fluff of black. "He's in Johnny's office, probably resting after playing around all day." He hummed, watching Harry intently from the rim of his cup. "Johnny lets him stay there without any objections?" He asked, mainly out of curiosity, nothing more, obviously.
