"Do I have to come?" Harry rolled his eyes at the question he was rewarded with, raising a finger at Niall to tell him he'd only take up a minute when the blond beckoned him over, back to the booth that was already occupied by two other people excluding Niall. "It would be rude to not show up when I told my boss you would love to meet him, Louis!" He tried to make the somnolent alpha understand, using his best pleading voice as he anticipated Louis' decision. "It would take me thirty minutes to drive there," he heard Louis mutter but smiled when the soft thud of a door shutting close resonated on the other line, considering it as a win since he was certain the alpha had dragged himself out of the bed.

"It only took us twenty in the morning." He protested without a sense of aversion in his voice. "That's because I was excited about the prospect of getting some 'Louis time' without you breathing down my neck about how my study is cluttered and how I never put my clothes in the laundry basket." Louis paused for a beat, before continuing but this time, with a dramatic edge to his tone, "but now, I'm coming to bring you back home where you'll start with all the cleaning stuff. So, I'm kind of dreading picking you up." Although the words weren't good-natured in a literal sense, they were uttered with anything but malice.

He bit back a smile at the ludic words, deciding not to comment how, at last, he was the one who would end up picking up after Louis' mess. "Then you'd better not pick me up." He snorted back, scrunching up his nose in distaste at the lack of his wit. "Okay, then. I think I'll go back to sleep." Louis responded, voice earnest and elated. "Oh! Did I tell you Niall and Liam are going to visit the midwife who's supposed to birth the child at home?" He heard Louis let out a hum but paid no mind to Louis' apathetic response, letting out another string of words about how Niall had told him he was already eight weeks along. "Harry?"

"Oh, hey! Jen? What are you doing here?" He turned around to face the woman, a small smile present on his face as the alpha approached him with hesitant steps, eyes vigilant like a hawk's as she let her gaze roam around the diner before she nodded to herself, now taking longer and confident strides towards him. "Is your alpha here?" She asked, voice quiet enough so only he could hear— not that there was anyone else around them. His thumb hovered over the end call button as he looked up at the solemn woman, and just when he felt like excusing himself from Jen so he could bid Louis a proper goodbye, the woman surged forward and wrapped her arms tightly around him.

He stiffened immediately, his arms going limp by his sides before he was returning the hug, a little more gawkily as he patted her back twice before pulling away with a tight-lipped smile on his face. "Thank you so much for your help. I can't thank you and your husband enough, and it means so much to me that you came forward and proposed the deal." He stared at Jen with his head tilted quizzically, peering down at her intently as he processed her words over and over in his mind until they didn't make sense anymore— not that they made sense in the first place. "Um, what help exactly?" He questioned, trying his level best to sound polite.
