"Oh, for fuck's sake, Niall!"
Harry laughed at the disgruntled expression covering Louis' features as Niall continued stealing chips from his plate. "Let's be serious for a while and finish watching this movie," Liam interjected in the badinage with a solemn tone, although his curled lips told a different story. "Tell your lover to stop stealing my food." Louis retorted back with a huff, slouching down on his seat begrudgingly as he watched Niall inhale his chips down all while Liam stared at the blond with a fond smile. "We can share mine, Lou?" He offered softly so that only the blue-eyed alpha could hear him, pushing the disposable plate closer towards him.
"No. You finish yours, I am all good." Louis mumbled back to him, pushing the plate back to where it was once on top of the coffee table. "Are you sure? You can have them, I am full." Louis eyed the half-eaten veggie burger on his plate, an eyebrow quirked as he jerked his head in the general direction of the burger, "you haven't even finished a burger. Are you sure you're full?" Harry blushed a bright red at that, green eyes wide as he stared at him with a look of almost betrayal. "Finish your meal, Harry, and no sharing with anyone."
"Don't tell me what to do." Harry huffed, nonetheless, picking up the burger to take a tentative bite. For the rest of the night, Louis kept an eye on the omega. He soon learned that the burger was the only thing Harry was avoiding, gobbling down any other viands (steering clear of any meat, obviously). "You don't like your veggie burger or something, Haz?" Niall questioned from his spot on Liam's lap, head resting on the brunet's firm chest with half of his face hidden in the crook of Liam's neck. "I don't like mayonnaise, there's too much of that in it." The green-eyed boy replied truthfully, finishing off his third red velvet cupcake. "I would eat it but I'm too full, and besides, too much junk food wouldn't be good for the baby." Niall's eyes widened immediately after the words tumbled out of his mouth with no barricade whatsoever, one of his hands clamped on his mouth as he looked up at Liam with anxious eyes.
"Oh, that's so gr—" Harry was startled when Louis grabbed his hand, pulling him down and back to the couch, shaking his head softly. He watched with confusion detectable on his face as Liam and Niall left the house hastily, the brunet alpha not even bothering to take their winter coats from the rack as he ushered Niall out of the house without so much as a word. "I'll leave, then." Zayn muttered, picking up the unopened box of chicken nuggets from the center of the coffee table along with a fistful of chips.
"Wait, Zayn! Have you called the Davies? They still haven't paid for the transportation duties." Harry sat still as the two alphas talked in hushed voices near the front door, his eyes focused on the messy table as he recollected the nerves that had made their way on Niall's amiable features. "Harry?" He snapped himself out of his reverie at the sound of the door shutting close. "I'll be in the study if you need me." Louis left without waiting for a response, the sound of his ascending footsteps indicated he was in some sort of hurry.
He stayed where he was for a good minute, staring blankly at the muted television. The day had started like any other day in his mundane life until Louis had informed him that Liam, Niall, and Zayn were coming over at midday. Aside from the strain of preparing some snacks and making sure the house was clean (Louis had helped, but he wasn't sure it could be considered a help, especially when he had to do that task again because it was finished sloppily), the rest of the day had gone smoothly.
