As Richie walked through the door, he knew nobody was home. His mother was probably still working and his father was on in a business trip in London. He sighed as he closed the door, tossing his keys on the kitchen side. Sliding his shoes off, he walks into the living room. On the sofa was a blanket, probably from his sister the other night. He folds it, before turning the Tv on for light noise in the background.

Heading back to the kitchen, He checked the fridge and cupboards. Enough food for him and Ashley for about three days. He'd need to go shopping for more if he wants her to have proper meals. He sighs, heading for his bedroom. As he stepped in, he noticed the state it was in. Though he didn't normally mind, his mother always reminded him about rats and bugs because of all the rubbish he leaves in there. He just sighs again, starting to clean up.

By 5:15, he's got his 14 year old sister at the table eating while he washes up the plate he used to microwave the mac and cheese. He then sits down, adjusting his glasses again before eating the food. Although it was a small portion, it did fill him up quickly. But he knew he had to eat most of it because they don't have much at the moment. He looks up to see that his sister was already finished, just looking out the window. He smiled lightly towards her, reaching over to grab her plate and stacking it onto of his before putting it on the side so he could wash it another time.

He pulled himself upstairs again, putting his radio on and getting a comic out. He hummed along to the tune of some madonna song playing in the background as the trees swayed outside, a branch sometimes hitting his window.

"Hey Ma, i need some new shoes" Eddie says, going to sit next to his mum on the sofa. Some mindless Tv show played on the tv, he wasn't paying any attention to it. "Your shoes are fine, eddie bear. Be a good boy and leave me alone for the rest of the night." Sonia says, completely brushing him off. He sighs, getting up and heading upstairs. By the time he got into his room, he was yawning though it was barley past 10pm.

He just shrugs, stripping down to his boxers before slipping under his cool covers, relaxing into his bed. But when he starts tossing and turning he huffs, shoving himself out of bed and into the bathroom. He looks himself in the mirror, his bags visible in any light. Ever since he's started taking these new pills for god knows what that his mother made him take, he's been getting insomnia. He's so bloody tired though that he reaches into the medicine cabinet and grabs out some melatonin gummy's and popping two in his mouth.

He knows it isn't the best method, but he needs sleep. Quickly, he reaches back into the cabinet the find the pills he took this morning, the ones causing this mess. He dumps them down the toilet, and he watches as it fizzes before flushing it, rubbing a hand over his face.

He finds as soon as his head hits the pillow, he is out like a light. But then, he jerks awake, sweat pooling over his head. His breathing is heavy and his eyes heavy. It takes a moment for him to find his inhaler, taking a few breaths of it before calming himself down. "Fuck," he says, rubbing is eyes. "Fuck!" He says a bit louder, hitting the pillow.

He looks over at the alarm clock, squinting when he sees the time is 6:47. He's never a morning person, but if he falls back asleep he'll wake up late, again. Sighing, he slowly gets out of bed and goes into the bathroom. He takes a couple of pills, goes for a piss and messes about with this hair for about five minutes before stepping out and heading over to his chest of draws. He grabs a queen shirt out, and some black jeans. He yawns, sitting down on his bed a staring at the door for a little before deciding he should leave early so he can walk around without being late to mr rockells class first period.

"I'm telling you Richie, she's pregnant." Ashley says, walking beside her brother. She's decided today she wanted to walk him instead of her friends, telling a story about how a girl in the year below her is pregnant. Richie just laughs it off, dragging his bike along with him. Just as he happens to look up, he sees Eddie leave his house. When the boy looks over to him, he just smiles at him before looking back to his sister.

But after a few moments, he can't help but look up again to see where Eddie is. He see's him on his bike, speeding down the street. It was only 7:56 who has that type of energy this early in the morning, Richie thinks to himself. He just shakes his head, zoning himself back into what is sister is saying.

When he gets to school, his sister separates from him, going over to her friend group while he puts his bike in the rack. He sees the bike Eddie was riding earlier, assuming the boy was probably somewhere near. He parks his bike near, and starts to head to where he knows Beverly and Ben would be. He's slightly surprised to see mike when he gets there, before the events of yesterday rush through his head again. He waves towards him, before stealing the cigarette in Beverly's hand and smoking a bit of it, smiling sheepishly at her when she glares.

He has his first class with mike, in the english and drama block. Going into mr smiths class, he sighs, remembering who he sits next to. A girl in his class, called Jennifer, always hits on him. To be honest, Richie thinks she just doesn't get the hint of him not being into her. He grimaces when he sees her smiling and waving at him. He pulls a fake smile on his face back to her, before turning to mike with dread on his face. Mike just laughs, patting his shoulder two times like he had done to him the previous day before going over to his own seat.

As the teacher starts the class, a note gets slid to his side of the desk. He looks up to see jennifer smiling at him, and he just looks down at the note. He unfolds it to see three boxes, with big words on top of them. On the top of the page lives a question, "do you like me" and the three boxes are labelled, "yes", "no" and "maybe". Richie sighs, already knowing the answer. This isn't the first time she's slid something like this over to him, and he just ticks the No box, like always. He slides it back to her, not even bothering to look at her. He looks out the window, not caring when he hears her whimper.

When he zones back into Mr smith shouting at two girls for doing one another's hair, he knew this was going to be a long day.
