"Fuck me" Richie breaths out, looking down at what had just been placed down in front of him. He adjusted his glasses, squinting to read what was on the paper. He looked up at his teacher who just sighed and walked away, passing out everyone else's test scores for their recent test. He got a b-, not as bad as the last one.
Beverly was sat next to him, and snorted when she saw his score. He looked over at her paper to see an A, better than what he got. He just glared at her, before looking out the window again.
"Hey tozier" Richie whips his head around to see a girl, who he barley knows. All he knows is that Jennifer is next to her, so this is bound to be bad for him. "When are you going to take my friend here on a date?" She says, smirking as Jennifer puts her head into her arms, groaning at her friends actions. Richie just looks blankly at her before answering. "I've already told her, i'm not into her." He says, turning back around to face his test.
"What was that" Beverly breaths out, laughing a little. Richie just sighs, looking over at the clock for the time. Only half an hour left of class, and then lunch. Great, how fun. It can only go more downhill from here, right?
"Eddie, you can't just use your asthma as an excuse not to do PE" Stanley says, placing his tray on the table in the furthest corner of the cafeteria next to Eddie. He sighs, looking over at the boy before he feels another person take a seat next to him. He sensed it was Bill, because no one else would sit next to the other two. "What a-are we talking about g-guys" He asks, looking over at them. Stanley smiled lightly at him, before facing Eddie again. "How darling Eddie here can't use his asthma as an excuse to get out of PE" Stan says huffing, getting an eye roll as an answer.
"I can do whatever i want stan, your not my mother" He says, laughing slightly. He starts eating what's on his plate, a peanut butter sandwich, some mini cheddars and an apple. He can hear Bill and Stan talking beside him, but he's not paying much attention. Instead, his attention is on a certain boy in the line, along with a girl with amber hair. It looks like they are arguing, ending up with Richie walking off, outside away from her. Eddie can see her sigh, before buying some food and walking the same direction Richie did.
"Eddie," Stanley's voice fades back into Eddies head. "oh what?" The boy says, looking over at his friend confused. "That's the second time this week you've been staring at that boy." He says, gesturing over to Bill for back up. "Y-yeah" he says, checking to see if he did good. Stanley slaps his face, sighing at the boys word.
Eddie just ignores their bickering, getting up to go outside. "Hey E-Ed's where y-you going?" Bill asks, looking over at the boy. He looks back at the pair, who were expecting an answer from him. "Outside, for some fresh air." He says turning back around. He stood still, speaking again, "Feel free to join me." And then he's walking, towards the door. By the time he's outside, he's got his friends by his side, them walking around the field until they get to an isolated area. The area where they used to hang around in 7th grade. Behind the football court, to the left. It has a bench they heaved over there, and their initials are carved into it.
Eddie smiles at the memories, sitting atop the bench. His friends seem to do the same, as they start to get back into the conversation they were in a couple of minutes ago. Eddie starts playing with his hands, not wanting to join in with the talking. It's not until he hears leafs crunching behind him that he snaps into action, the three of them going quiet. They look behind them and see nothing but a quick movement behind the tree. They all look at each other as they get up, with bill in front of them.
They slowly start walking over in the the direction of the sound, and as they turn the side of the tree, they see two people. It's Richie and his friend from earlier. She has her hand clasped over his mouth, as to look like he was going to talk. Eddie is taken back by the two hiding there, wondering if they saw the trio come over here. Stanley jumps back at the sight of them, while bill just stands there eyes wide.
As soon as the hand clasped over Richies mouth is released, he starts laughing. His laughter is loud, causing the girl to groan. "um, hi." The girl says, her hand waving at the three of them. Richie's still laughing as they all wave back slowly, a shared confused look on their faces. Richies laughter cools down, as he puts a hand on the girls shoulder. He's clasping for air, still laughing slightly. "I'm beverly," The girl says, pointing towards herself. "And this is Richie." She finishes, pointing towards him. Eddie smiles at Richie as the boy meets his eyes. "Bev, it's Eddie spaghetti!" Richie says, his hands lifting in the air with a smile on his face.
Stanley laughs, facing Eddie. "Eddie spaghetti?" He says, laughing again. The boy elbows him in the stomach slightly, gritting his teeth. "I told you that's not my name." He says to the boy in front of him, who's re adjusting his glasses. He clears his throat, clasping his hands together as he faces Beverly. "I'm Eddie," He says, "Thats stan" He continues, pointing over at the boy on his right. "And that's bill" He finishes, pointing over on the boy to his left. She smiles at them, shaking all of their hands, just like Richie had done to Eddie that day last week.
"What are you lot doing over here?" Beverly asks, directing her question at bill. He seems to snap into action as he starts talking. "T-this used to b-be our spot b-back in 7th gra-grade." He says, looking over at the table they were just sitting on. He smiles at her, as she looked over to where Bills eyes had wondered. "How about you?" Stan asked, making the two of them look over to him. "Why are you two over here?" He asks, looking between Richie and Beverly.
"Oh, we're not alone, Ben and Mike are just round the corner at our spot. Come, i'll introduce you to them." Richie says, reaching over and taking ahold of Eddies arm. He drags him away, Bill following after the pair as Beverly sighs. Stan just starts following too, along with Bev behind him. Once they get to the corner, Richies already introduced Eddie too the other boys.
"Nice to meet you," one of them say while the other just shakes his hand. "This is our humble spot, bask in its beauty." Richie says, bowing like he's showing off something wealthy. Eddie laughs slightly, before taking a seat against the wall, near where Ben and Mike were sitting. He watched as Richie slid down next to him, both of them smiling at one another.
