"Secondary character's voices matter too"

Now,i don't know whether there was a meeting someday between 85% of wattpad writers where it was concluded that characters other than the MC and whoever interests her must all be mute, but it sure looks like it.
Why don't they have a life of their own? why can't they have POVs of their own?
why can't they have a voice of their own?
Yes the story is about the MC but would it hurt you to include a POV of her parents? her siblings? Her best friend? and before you say that it takes away from the plot and shifts the focus from the main character let me tell you : it's 👏the 👏opposite 👏
I read a story on here about a month ago where the author switched POVs (tastefully) between most of the characters and it helped understand the MC so well since all POVs were connected.
In short,give secondary characters a chance.
