CHAPTER-16UNEDITED
I couldn't trust my own eyes. At first, I thought that maybe my head was bonging like hella crazy that's why I'm wasn't able to see comprehensibly but I ushered my way towards her and it was no one other than Katie."Ally, you shouldn't have been here twice. You called your doom." Katie smirked at me.
"What are you talking about?"I reluctantly questioned her.
"I brought you some food, you need to have some daily bread to feel helpless huh," Katie launched the plate at me.
"You gotta tell us, why are we here!" I yelled at her.
"Sit-back back down Ally, you gotta save your energy huh?" She echoed her voice through my eardrums.
She turned back and slammed the door again.I shut my peepers and thought about Brendon. Life could be so incalculable. His baby face kept on interrupting my line of thinking. Maybe that was the time when I perceived the concept of love and warmth.
I wanted to rest my head on his smooth shoulder and sit by the lake. This whole witch notion was unbearable to my brain. I was almost dreamy when I felt some vibration on my back. I turned around and it was Uncle Jeb.
I enquired him about the whole situation.
"Uncle Jeb, tell me what all do you know about Katie? Trust me, if you could help me then we can get out of this gloomy room.""She's a black witch, that's what she tells me. Last night I was walking down the lane when I eventually felt like someone was stalking me. I hurriedly ran towards my house but before I could step in, someone pulled me back. There were two people, one of them was bulky and sturdy and the other one was drastically opposite. She jabbed me with a knife. That's the last thing I could recollect. After that, there's a blank in my memory."
"Since I came here, I have come across this girl. I don't know what's her motive. I can't map things out." Uncle Jeb started brushing his tears away while elaborating.
I felt helpless and couldn't figure out anything. One thing which gummed to my mind was that there is someone else too, who could be the tower of strength to her.
My inner Ally was pointing her inklings towards Brendon. But it can't be him.
If that second person was bulky then that means that he could be a man!
C'mon Ally, u know Brendon is the only one who lives with Katie. My inner Ally estimated.I shook off the inklings and started thinking about a way to get out of that place.
Soon I recalled about Uncle Jeb's phone. It was hanging down his pocket, almost half In the air.
I pulled it up and pressed the button.
I was about to dial a number when Uncle Jeb started quaking his chair. He wanted to stand up."Do not call anybody, give me that phone back." He trembled his hands towards mine.
"Why? I can call Amy and tell her everything! She'll help us," I tried to make him understand but he kept on howling and yelling.
He was quaking his broken chair so much that he ended up on the floor. The chair was half curved on the floor. Uncle Jeb screamed in pain.
I walked towards him and incurved his chair again. Brought it back to its position. Suddenly his hand went on my mine and he twisted it in such a way that the phone spiralled in the thick dark air and gravity brought it down on the ground with a thud. It was shattered into million pieces.
I shook my head and bent on my knees.
"Why did you do this? We could have asked for help?" I uttered while smiling at my own helplessness."That witch told me that if I try to step out of this room then she'll enchant my Amy. She will kill everyone. That's what she does." Uncle Jeb comprehended in a demented manner.
He seemed out of his mind. That was the last ray of hope for me.A pregnant silence resides in that room after the quarrel.
I never thought growing up would be that perplexing.
Mom always told me that nothing remains the same. It keeps on evolving. Darkness cannot stay for a longer time, it has to fade away for the light to shower its rays.
Autumn has to come so that the flowers can finally wilt it's body away and start a new fresh cycle.
I confronted myself that it was just a phase that will pass away, maybe it's the darkness that is scaring me right now for I can see through the light afterwards."HEY! Amy, Do you hear them?" Uncle Jeb murmured and broke the silence away.
"Them? Who, uncle?" I questioned him instantly."Go closer to that door, it's them. They are conversing." Uncle Jeb repeatedly said.
I heaved my body up and ended up eavesdropping.
It was Brendon, the door was quite solid so the sound was not able to travel through it. But it was his mild pronunciation that made me conclude that it was him.
I screeched with terror.
"Brendon, it's me, Ally. You there?" I cried in pain and shrieked. The ironclad door was soon castaway and I saw his hazel eyes again. He meandered his way towards me. I couldn't restrain my body from falling down anymore. It felt like the light has finally come. The darkness was no longer surrounding my heart. It was him, this fact made my brain so relaxed that I ended up falling in his arms.
My eyes were not closing their doors. They wanted to see through that light as much as possible but unfortunately, I became insensible and finally, my eyelids closed their way. I didn't even try to open them again because somewhere deep inside my conscience, I was assured that when I'll open my eyes again, there would be no darkness, only the light will welcome me.Hello pretty people! How are y'all doing?
