*UNEDITED*
I stepped into my classroom and saw Amy sobbing.
What happened? I asked her while giving her a smooth, tight hug.She brushed her face against my shirt. I could feel her tears across my dermis.
She didn't stop. I tried to make her comfortable but she was constantly shrieking.
I took my phone out of my pocket and called Laurie.Hey, where are you? I asked while trembling my fingers.
I'm at the school dispensary. Laurie elaborated. What? Why are you there, you know Amy is-
Yeah I know, she got her hand scratched and was bleeding badly so I thought of getting some bandages and stuff from the dispensary. Laurie answered me.I looked at Amy and declined his call.
I sat beside her and held her hand weakly. Did you get hurt? I asked her with a faint smile.
Yea...., She replied to me after a minute.
You remember Amy, when we were 5 and it was Halloween's night. We were young and heedless.
I asked you to go to that 'haunted aunt's house' which was empty for the last 5 years. I knew there was no bad energy there but just for some fun, I told you that all our friends are having a party at that place. You were so frightened but still, you walked with great confidence.
Yeah, and it was a bloody lie. No one was there. U fooled me. Amy spoke while chuckling.
And after few minutes, you started crying. You were so alarmed that you held both of your hands against your ears, just to filter out all the noise.
And then you came to me and sang that jingle.
*We are stronger together, we are braver together.
Sometimes you laugh and I cry. But we know that we are better together*
I realised that we both were jangling together.
We sang and sang until she forgets that she was weeping her unmanageable transparent driblets.
You know how to make things easier Ally, don't you?
Amy exclaimed while resting her shoulder against mine. You know last night, I was scrubbing the dishes. Dad usually comes home by 9. But yesterday it was past 10 and he still didn't show up. So I had my earplugs on and started mopping the table.
Soon I heard someone jabbing languidly. At first, I thought maybe it's the music but that wasn't the case. I unplugged my leads and ran outside the house. For a second my whole body stopped reacting. It felt like my feet were intertwined.
There were two people. They looked insane and were green with envy. I couldn't even see the surface of their bodies. They had their black hoodies on. One of them seemed unacceptably muscular. All I could see was their eyes.
They shoved Dad and started pulling him. I saw that one of them was holding a knife. The knife had fresh flush blood on it. I looked at Dad and examined that he was injured.
I flung the door open and dashed towards them. They jostled my shoulder with some thrust and I fell on the rough deck.
I started bleeding heavily and couldn't stop them from taking Dad away.My eyelids started Locking up, everything became hazy and blurry.
Amy's legs were shaking like a leaf. I could again feel the warm droplets over my right hand. She took a deep puff after spilling out all the truth.
I was about to call Laurie but he eventually showed up. He didn't have those dimples on the corner of his lips this time. He seemed restless. I took Amy's hand and rested it on Laurie's arm. He urgently opened the medical box and took out some white Bandages. He started doing the dressing.
I had a lot on my mind.
You gotta stay strong, Amy. We will find your Dad. I stood up and asked Laurie to rent his shoulder to Amy.I took my backpack and went out of my school. My brain cells were fighting amongst each other. I had to find about Brendon first so I went to his house.
The door was half unfurled. I walked to Brendon's room. There was absolutely nothing there that could make my thoughts more comprehensible. For a second, I thought maybe I'm just going through a series of nightmares.
Soon I remembered about that shrunk hut in front of his house. The hut was bushy. The door was cracked. A lot of dust was relaxing over the top of that table, which rescued me last time.
Still, the hut was murky. Not even a single streak of light was visible. I touched the flash button on my cell phone. Finally, a stream of light, made the hut visible.
There was a cupboard, just adjacent to that table. I propelled the door of the cupboard.
These days I have been using a lot of strength. I have never been this active in my life. A strong gush mobbed my face.
A lot of space was occupied by books. They weren't ordinary books. They were almost as big and heavy as my family's photo album.Another shelf was occupied by some alienated possessions. A big jar of salt was the only thing I could figure out. I saw a recurring sign on all the books. It seemed familiar. I took out that old book from my bag and saw that same sign, engraved on it.
The inside of the cupboard's door was
Suffused with handcrafted pages. They had odd circles made on them.
I noticed that something was carved on the top of each page. It was in some other language.I started getting a hint about all the mess.
I couldn't believe all of that. My body was shivering. Everything became vague so I rested my hand on the dusty wall. When my hand was resting on that surface, it didn't seem as hard as that of a wall. I smashed the unknown surface two three times and it started Juddering. I bought my leg forward and gave an indestructible push to that 'newly found' door.
I stepped in a Nick of time. Without any warning, my head felt a sudden discomposure. It felt like I was attacked by some wooden stick. Uneasiness took control of my body, everything became fuzzy and cryptic. The surroundings became unclear, the last thing I saw was a man, who was handcuffed with ropes. His head was tilted and he seemed dead to me.
Hello pretty humans, I'm back with another chapter. I hope you all like it.
