I tossed and turned in my bed in the cabin. I woke up sweating and panting. I had just dreamed that Toby was after me with some other Federal agents. I had seen Sally’s face and a few others that I knew; if there was a mission to get me Billy would only send the best agents his got and Toby is one of them. Toby tried to warn me but I didn’t listen to him, I had gotten myself into a huge mess. I looked at the little alarm clock on the bedside table and saw that it was six-thirty. I got out of bed and got dressed; I walked out of my room and out the veranda at the front of the cabin. Uncle Josh was sitting on a chair with a cup of coffee in his hands.
“Morning,” I said as I approached him.
“Morning Summer,” he replied. I sat down on a chair and put my head in my hands. Uncle Josh looked over to me. “What’s bothering you?”
“It was just a dream,” I mumbled.
“Tell me about it.”
“The federal agents knew that I had broken you out. Toby, the boss and a couple of other people I knew were on the mission after us. I have a bad feeling that this really going to happen.”
“You had a lot of dreams when you were younger that came true,” Uncle Josh said looking down at his coffee.
“What?” I asked confused.
“You wouldn’t remember them,” He replied.
“Tell me one.”
“You were staying at my place, you told me the next morning after your dream you told me that your parents were going to die in a car crash.” Uncle Josh looked over my way to see my reaction, I was shocked.
“I don’t remember that,” I said.
“I said that you wouldn’t remember them,” Uncle Josh replied.
He took a sip of coffee and he seemed sad. I looked at our cars and it reminded me that I had actually broken my uncle out of jail, and this wasn’t a dream.
“I miss your mother,” Uncle Josh mumbled.
“She was your sister,” I reminded him.
“Every day in jail I wished that she wasn’t dead,” Uncle Josh said sadly.
“What was mum’s name?”
“Delilah,” he replied, “God my sister was beautiful. You look so much like her. I’m happy you look like her but it also makes me sad because you aren’t her. But at least she had you and Dean because you two make me feel happy and I know that you are my sister’s kids.”
“How old would mum be if she was alive?” I asked.
“She would have been thirty-eight,” he replied.
“She must have been only twenty when she had me and twenty-five when she had Dean,” I said, “Wait she died at twenty-five.”
“Yes I was only twenty, in her will you were given to me and Dean to Rebecca.”
“Why did Rebecca get Dean?”
“She was your mum’s best friend and Dean would have been safer with her.”
“So last month you turned thirty-three, and mine was a few weeks ago,” I said.
“Yes, your mother would have had her birthday last month as well.”
