My parents died in a car crash. Police were chasing them trying to catch them. My parents had just robbed a bank. The police killed my parents they made them drive of a cliff. I was only five at the time. I lived with my uncle Josh for five years; we had no money, the only money we had had been taken from us because it was stolen. When I turned eight, Centre Link cut my uncle’s payments they found out that my uncle had made a fake name so he could get money.

Uncle Josh robbed banks and rich people to get money, but that all changed when I was eight. He was sentenced to twenty-five years to life in jail; my uncle had killed people too. I lived with foster parents and I was able to visit my uncle. But that changed when I was sixteen. I had sworn that I would break my uncle free one day; my foster parents never let me see him again. My childhood was the worst time of my life so far, my teen years were a little better thanks to my friends Molly Neumann she is eighteen, Chris Arnott (also known as Boost) he is eighteen too and Toby Bennet he is twenty-two. Toby became my boyfriend after that horrible day, when I was banned from seeing my uncle.

I hated my life after I was banned from seeing my uncle. I tried to reason with my foster parents but they didn’t listen to me. I rebelled and if Lauren and Neil won’t so keen in keeping me, I would have been in and out of foster homes. The day were I would live up to my promise to my uncle was nearing and I was happy, but I was worried. How was I going to get him out? I knew that it was going to be a risking job but I deserve happiness in my life.

One night I was walking past my foster parents bedroom, I heard them talking about my parents. They were saying that they don’t feel guilty for calling the cops and telling them where to find them. They moved on to my uncle and they laughed with victory after Neil said that Lauren had done a good job on the whole Centre Link thing. Lauren then said that Neil had done a good job for getting him into jail. After that they mentioned that I had a little brother that would be thirteen this year.

It took all might not to walk into their room and bash them in the head and yell at them. That night I realized that they had done all that to have me and to destroy my life. I felt angry, betrayed and hurt. All I could think about is what they had done to my family and me. I began to hate them more from that night. Molly had helped me through the whole thing and I realized that I could only trust the people closest to me. One day I will get my revenge and destroy Lauren and Neil’s life but first I had to get back my life.

Two years had passed by since the last time I saw my uncle. It was the night before my eighteenth birthday. Every night since I found out about what Neil and Lauren had done to my family I have been hanging around their room waiting for them to say something, but they hadn’t. But I had a feeling that I would find something out. I walked to Neil and Lauren’s bedroom door and waited for them to say something.

Neil and Lauren spoke about their day when Lauren suddenly changed the subject.

“Neil do you feel bad for killing that man?” Lauren asked.

“No, it helped get Josh Mason in jail,” Neil replied, “besides you helped me.”

“Well, I feel bad,” Lauren muttered.

“Ha, she does have a heart,” I mumbled loud enough for only me to hear. I pressed my ear to the door and listened.

“That’s only because that was your brother,” Neil replied matter-of-factly. I gasped and I put my hand over my mouth, hoping that they didn’t hear me.

“I guess you’re right,” Lauren said sadly.

She killed her own brother, I thought to myself.

There was an awkward silence in Neil and Lauren’s room. I felt a sneeze building up.

       “Achoo,” I sneezed.

“What was that?” Lauren asked. I could imagine her face and her body trembling. I ran down the hall to my room. I closed my door quietly and ran and leaped onto my bed I slid in and messed my hair up. I heard footsteps walking up and down the hall. My door opened and I snapped my eyes shut.

“She is in her room,” Lauren called to Neil. I sat up slowly and turned my bedside lamp on. I stretched and yawned.

Neil ran to my room and Lauren looked relieved.

       “What’s wrong?” I asked.

“Someone was near our bedroom door, we heard a sneeze,” Neil said.

“Oh my,” I said letting panic seep into my voice.

“We thought that it might have been you,” Lauren said.

“No it wasn’t I have been in here,” I said, “What were you guys talking about for you to be so worried?”

“We were talking about your birthday present,” Neil replied.

Yeah right, I thought to myself.

“Well, it wasn’t me I don’t even know what my present is,” I said. Neil nodded his head. Lauren and Neil said goodnight and closed my door. I turned my bedside lamp off and I slid down and curled up into a tight ball. I couldn’t get to sleep. I was too scared that Lauren or Neil was going to murder me.

I then realized that Neil and Lauren were really rich so they could get the police to believe them and that was how they were able to keep me for so long.
