part fourteen

"this time i'm ready to rUuuUuUUuNn" i sang.
it's my 19th birthday today. i'm having a party at my house. some friends will be there:
payton
jade
jackson
annie
and a few other people.
there's at least 20 people going.
however mateo couldn't make it. he's on some tour thing idk. he was meant to come back last week but he won't be coming until next week. he told me to still throw the party and he would just take me out when he came back which i'm totally up for.

and i've been trying but i just can't fight it, when o hear i just can't stop smiling

that we used to know" i sang whilst getting ready

"nice voice" jade said
"thank you" i smiled
"sorry he couldn't make it. mateo" jade said
"it's fine. i just miss him" i smile looking at her in the mirror
"i'll call him later" i said before she left
the party started at 1 and it was now 12. i was just doing very simple makeup and i wore a black shirt sleeved top with blues shorts. i walked downstairs and helped set up. we blew a few balloons and made it look cute. after getting the snacks out and ready i just sat and watched tv. after a few minutes people started to come. soon lots more people came. more than 20.. kinda felt uncomfortable but it was fine. jade went out to get loads more snacks.

"omg what took you so long!" i said as jade walked through the door
"where is everyone" she said completely ignoring me
"well everyone who wasn't invited left an hour ago and everyone else is still here"
"okay. well let's do presents"
"sure"
jackson got me a bracelet matching with his
payton got me two frames one with a picture of us and the other with a picture of all of us from prom.
jade got me a perfume set, a friendship ring and made a small slide show with loads of memories. i cried while watching it.
mom got me tickets to see niall horan. also cried at that.
she also got me a nomination bracelet.
from other people i got clothes, jewellery, chocolate etc.
we played the music and people talked. then jade made an announcement
"hello everyone. i'm jade, sophias best friend, i have a really quick announcement. so since mateo, sophias boyfriend, couldn't make it i got him to send me a video of him saying happy birthday blah blah blah. so here you go soph" she said jumping off the kitchen island.
"hey soph. i'm so sorry i couldn't be there today i wish i could. i miss you so much. but happy birthday to the most gorgeous, spectacular, independent women i know. i remember when we first met. i thought you were gorgeous, and in my mind i was like, this girl has been simping over me for like what.. a year. and i never knew. must have sucked for me. but now, it's been 2 whole years! that's a long time. anyways i just wanna say i love you so much and i can't wait to see you again. mwah" the video played
i smiled trying to keep the tears in. ugh i miss him so much. jade jumper back onto the island
"aww that was so emotional but also so cute. soooo. we have one more present for you soph." she said looking behind me
i gave her a questioned look but turned.
i froze. as i turned around i saw mateo down on one knee.
he smiled
that smile
"sophia bella moormeier. everything on that video was 110% true. i love you so so much. will you do the honours of making me the happiest man walking on earth and marry me" he smiled
i smiled back with the tears streaming down my face
"yes" i said. he stood up and picked me up and spun me around. everyone cheered. kinda forgot everyone else was here tbh. he put me down and put the ring on and kissed me.
i hugged him.
"i love you so much" he said
i pulled away
"i missed you" i said
"i missed you too" he said
i went to jade
"how'd you keep this a secret. your so bad at keeping secrets" i asked her
"i'm good when it needs to stay a secret" she said
i laughed
"IM ENGAGED!!" i said hugging her
"I KNOW!" she said jumping up and down.
i walked up to my mom.
"did you know" i asked her
she nodded and hugged me.
"ugh. stop growing up" she said tearful. my eyes started watering
"no no no. don't cry. it's a good moment." she said
"i know. i just don't know if i'm ready to move and grow up and get married and have children and.. what if he stops loving me and leaves and i have to raise my children all on my own and i'll never love someone ever ag-" i rambled
"honey... your rambling. calm down. you don't have to get married for another 2/3 years. you'll be ready then. and plus. mateo will never fall out of love for you. i know he's the right one. that's why i let him propose. if he wasn't the right one i wouldn't be comfortable with you around him. but when your with him i know your safe" she said
i smiled
"yeah your right" i said hugging her
"i love you" i said
"love you too sweetheart" she said
