Giselle POV:

The rest of the break was fun. It was mostly just the three of us hanging out but sometimes lane would join in with us. I like Lane and I even have her number now so I think we're gonna be good friends.

Rory and I have gotten even closer. She told me about how Lorelai had her when she was 16 and how Christopher hasn't been that present in her life. We have that in common; when my mom found out that my dad cheated on her, we moved to Connecticut because mom was offered a better job. My dad now has a girlfriend that I hate and doesn't call that much. Not that I even want him to call, he's done enough damage to our lives.

The only thing stressing me now is my PSAT scores. I think I did well but even if I didn't I could always retake them. We've been back at school for some time now and most people have gotten their grades back so it's only a matter of time.

My mom has also come back from Ohio but she's just anxious lately because she got nominated for some surgical award. If she wins, it would put her name on the map. Apparently, there's a lot of talk going around in the medical world about the Olivia Grey Method. I'm really proud of her but if she wins she's only going to get busier.

Moving on. It's Thursday today, so as usual, I get up, shower, get dressed, very little makeup, pack my bag, eggo, then I step outside to get the mail from our mailbox. I grab the mail then head back inside the house. I put down the mail on the dining table then look through them and there it is. My PSAT scores. I open up the envelope.

YES!!

YESS!!

750 verbal, 760 math.

Those are good grades and I'm proud of them. I've always been better on the math and science side of academics, not that I'm not confident in my reading and languages. It's a good way to start off the day. I leave the envelope on the table, then I grab my car keys and head to school.

...

Currently, Rory and I are at lunch eating our salads and sipping our soda as she tells me all about the termites living under her house. It's really bad too. It's going to cost them a fortune and their house might even collapse. I feel bad for her but I'm sure Lorelai will be able to figure things out. When she finishes telling me about her weekend we both take out our books and continue reading.

It's been kind of a tradition to read when we're at lunch but sometimes we get carried away with the conversation that we don't even take our books out of our bags. I continue to read as I hear Madeline and Louise counting their chips on the other end of this wooden lunch table.

"...10, 11, 12. Here." Lousie finishes counting her chips and passes the bowl to Madeline.

"Thanks. 1, 2, 3..." Madeline tells Louise then continues to count out loud as she takes a single chip out of the bowl and places it on a napkin, one by one. Rory and I look up from our books and exchange weird looks as we glance over at them.

"I'm depressed." Louise cuts Madeline off. I'm trying to focus on the book but it's hard when they're speaking right on the other end of the table.

"Jeremy didn't call?" Madeline asks her.

"Not in a timely manner, no."

"Well, good riddance to bad luggage," Madeline says to her.

"I guess. I just thought we really connected the other day in the supply closet." Louse says all mopey.

"Boys- a Nancy Drew mystery," Madeline tells her as Paris walks over with her tray of food and sits across from them, only a few chairs away from me.

"Louise. Madeline." She greets them with a grin on her face.
