Back at the compound, Natasha and Clint arrive flustered and pissed off that y/n is still in the hands of Thanos, along with Loki now. The pod - which holds 4 - touches down on the roof, where everybody is waiting, some angry, some concerned. The blacked out windows stop the Sun from blinding its occupants when in space, but they also stop the Avengers from seeing Clint in the passenger seat. When the roof lifts up, allowing Natasha to step out, half of them frown and look around for y/n and Loki, half checking her for injuries or beginning to lay into her for abandoning the plan and going solo. All of them scowl when she says nothing but heads to the other side. She comes back with a limping Clint's arm swung over her shoulder. They all fall silent. Mildly entertained by the sight of speechless Tony, Clint gives a weak, ironic salute. 'Hey guys.'
Wanda gives a characteristic head tilt, squinting a little to check she's seeing things correctly. 'Clint?'
Peter points a finger between Clint, the ship, Nat, then Clint again. 'You- You died on a mission?'
Natasha clicks her tongue and waves a hand over her best friend. 'Apparently not.'
'It's great to have you back, bud,' Bruce starts, fiddling with his glasses. 'But where's y/n?'
'And Loki?' Thor chips in.
Clint's head drops, chest rising and falling exaggeratedly. 'Thanos would only let one of us off the ship.' He shakes his head and laughs bitterly. 'Y/n refused, of course.'
'As for Loki, we couldn't just leave her alone. He put a clone on the ship and is on the ship in disguise,' Natasha explains. Thor holds his head in his hands, trying to hide his stress and concern.
Wanda shows no relief upon hearing that Loki's with y/n. Her brows are turned upwards and she's staring at Natasha, waiting for her to continue. When she doesn't, Wanda asks, 'But you saw her? She's ok, she's not... hurt?'
'She looked like she needed a sandwich, but other than that she's fine. Clint, on the other hand...' She trails off and faces Bruce, indicating for him to take Clint to the med bay. He catches on and hurries over. Steve also takes Clint's arm from Nat and between them, they help him off the roof.

Later, Clint's sat up in one of the beds, the rest of the team either sat on an adjacent bed or standing at the foot of his. He didn't need any complex care, so Bruce was able to handle it. He's on a drip to give him fluids and has bandages all over - protecting bruised ribs or covering stitches. He takes a deep breath, feeling uneasy talking about his daughter with them after so many years of concealing her existence. 'We need to talk about y/n. About why I hid her from you.'
'Yeah, what the hell was that about?' Tony interjects, blunt as ever.
'Tony, please,' Steve protests, gesturing to Clint's condition. 'We know. She already told us it was because you didn't want people using her for her powers.' He gives Tony the side eye.
'Ridiculous,' Tony mutters.
Clint sighs again. 'That's what I told her, but it's about more than that.' He takes in the image of the group around him. He knows he can trust them; they've spent months with y/n and clearly care about her, but it's habit for this information to stay sealed behind his lips, known only to him. He shakes it off. He's known them for years. He can trust them with his daughter. 'Y/n's an infinity stone.'
They all, without realising, pull away from him. Bruce, who was adjusting the tape holding his IV line in, freezes. 'What do you mean she's an infinity stone? That's impossible.'
'When her mother,' Clint's voice wavers, 'was pregnant with y/n she was hit by a blast from the power stone. We didn't think y/n was affected. Then Laura died and y/n grew up and when she was 10, her powers started. She nearly burnt her school down.' The others say nothing, just stare at him, dumbfounded.
Natasha is the first to speak. 'So y/n's the power stone.'
Clint looks blankly at Tony. 'That's why I kept her from you. It was just better if no one knew. Somehow, though, Thanos found out my daughter had the power stone within her, but he couldn't find her. He tortured me to get me to tell him her location. I didn't fold, but you idiots took her to a Chitauri battle and they told Thanos about how a powerful individual had wiped out almost all of their soldiers!' He rests his head in a bandaged hand, taking a moment to calm down. 'And now she's with him. So not only does he have 5 infinity stones, but he has my daughter, too.'
'Look, if he wanted to hurt her, he would have killed her on the spot. She'll be fine.' Thor tries to comfort him.
'20 years I tried to figure out ways to extract the power stone from her. Take her out of harms way. Don't you think if I could have done it safely and harmlessly to her I would have done it? The only way he gets that power stone from her is if she dies.' His voice falters on the last word and he covers his mouth, staring at the corner of the room. 'And she has no idea.'

Thanos invited you to dinner, rather than sending a faceless soldier to bring you a bowl of bland porridge. It was delicious, the most substantial thing you'd had in weeks, but you couldn't enjoy it. Not with him watching you and lecturing you on the brilliance and generosity of his plan. When you get back to your room, you throw your jacket on to the bed, where it lands on Loki, reading one of the books Thanos provided you with. 'Never,' You begin, taking your top off and replacing it with an oversized one that was in the bundle of clothes that came with the room. All of them are either too small or too big, but they're better than your suit you arrived in. 'Let me do that again.'
He smiles, amused, and dog ears the rage he's on. He never does that to his books back home, but he clearly doesn't care about these books, and you wonder if it's a very mild, passive aggressive 'fuck you' to Thanos. Damaging his books. 'That bad?' He asks.
'Ugh.' You flop down on the bed and lean into him. 'Insufferable purple thumb. Preaching about "Saving the universe"' You use air quotes, scoffing. 'If I could just get these bloody cuffs off...'
Loki takes each wrist and rolls on top of you, holding each above your head. 'Anything I can do to take your mind off of things?' He winks.
'I have a couple of things in mind...'
After, the two of you are in bed, breathless. You're watching your fingers wind together and compare the size of his hands to yours. His slim fingers stretch a good two inches longer than yours. You admire them. How can something look so delicate yet deadly? Your eyes flick to his face again, trailing their line of sight from his ear, down his jawline, to his chin. God, he's attractive. He catches you staring and you quickly look away, blushing fiercely. Instead of waiting for him to tease you about it or make some cocky remark, you change the subject. 'It feels familiar... sneaking around, I mean.'
'Mmm,' He says, the way he does when he's distracted by something. When you look up at him to see what, it's you. He has no shame though, and doesn't turn away. Still, it's you that ends up blushing. 'I wonder why that is.'
You giggle and place a kiss on the corner of his jaw, feeling smug when he shivers.
