A Bout for Two // NCT Renjun

Chapter 2

       After my AAHC class, I head outside to wait for Mark.  I look down at my schedule to see what my next class is.  Environmental Systems and Societies or ESS.  After reading the rest of my schedule I see Mark walking towards me.  "Hey Aria, how was your first class?"  "It was pretty good, I have to admit.  Mr. Kim is a really good teacher, and the class is really interesting." "Well I'm glad that you're enjoying yourself so far," Mark says.  We make out way down the hall to my next class.  

"Now I hope you don't mind walking, but your ESS class is on the other campus which is not a long way from here," Mark says.

"Wait, hold up, THERE'S ANOTHER CAMPUS???" I say in shock.  How big is the school???

After a 3 minute walk, make our way to the other campus where my classroom is, well it's not exactly a classroom.  I've never seen a learning environment as strange and as beautiful as this one.  There are circular, stubby looking buildings with stairs that hug the structure, leading to a sort of roof.  On the roofs sit students and their lecturers, all holding or hugging a pillow to some extent.  I can tell that I'll really be enjoying this class.  This school seriously has some of the prettiest and most interesting architecture and learning facilities.  

Second campus building:

"Classroom":

After bidding Mark goodbye, who has to head back to the main campus building for his class, I make my way up the structure to introduce myself to the teacher.  Her name is Mrs. Yu, and she's from Shanghai, China!  After having a bit of a chat and going over the curriculum, it's time for class to start.  I turn around and find myself face to face with Jeno.  Behind him, I see Jaemin and Renjun getting settled for the lesson.  I'm guessing that Haechan must have a different second class.  "Sorry, I didn't see you," I say to Jeno before bowing and making my way to my spot for class.  I can feel his eyes on me, but I don't dare to turn around.

       Today's ESS class is more like an introduction, so I get a bit bored.  I start looking around at my classmates until Renjun catches my eye.  From the looks of it, he's drawing something in his notebook.  I stare at him with curiosity until we make eye contact, again.  I hide my face out of embarrassment, again!  Ugh, how many times am I going to make eye contact with him today??  After class finally ends, I head down the stairs to meet up with Mark.  He's going to take me to the cafeteria for lunch.

       We arrive at the cafeteria, and just as I'm about to get food, I hear someone yell my name from across the way.  I see Julia with a big smile on her face telling me to come over.  I make my way towards her, and see that she's sitting with two other girls. 

"Hey Aria, I wanted to introduce you to my other friends," Julia says with a smile.

"Hi, I'm Byun Minju," one of the girls says.  She has a cute face and her hair is up in a low ponytail.

"Hello, I'm Renee Jung," the other girl says.  She has big eyes and a really pretty smile. (pronounced Re-nay)

"Hi, I'm Aria Wong, it's nice to meet you guys," I say.

After getting to know each other a bit, we head off to get our food.  The girls are really nice people!  I found out that Julia and Renee are also fencers who are on the girls' fencing team.  Minju on the other hand is really into performing arts and is a dancer.  Julia and Renee tell me more about the fencing team and how competitive it is to get onto the team.  Apparently, there are a lot of fencers or wannabe fencers who attend this school.  They say that some join because of the sport, others join because of the supposedly hot guys, and others join because they want to find a new hobby.  Neo High School is said to have a VERY good fencing team, and they've been the national champions for 3 years straight, and they are not ready to give up that title.  

       After a few more minutes of talking, we have to go and attend our next classes.  I wait for Mark, and Julia had volunteered to keep me company.  We talk a little bit about classes before I feel a tap on my shoulder.  I turn around and see Mark with a smile on his face.  "Ready to go?" he asks.  I nod my head yes, but before I can go anywhere, Julia stops us with a smirk on her face.

"Woah woah woah there cowboy," she says while looking at Mark.

"What now little one," Mark says while rolling his eyes with a smile.

"Make sure she's safe and that you treat her well, otherwise I'm gonna hit your balls in fencing," Julia says.  

"Yeah yeah whatever," he says before leading me to my next class.

"You guys seem pretty close," I say as we walk to my next and last class for the day which is Pre-Calc.  

"Yeah, Julia and I have known each other ever since we were 6," Mark says.  "We met through our fencing club and have been friends ever since."

After a few minutes, we arrive in front of my math classroom.  I bid Mark goodbye as I head into my classroom.  

Classroom:

As I make my way to the back of the classroom, I see someone who instantly catches my eye, Huang Renjun.  How is it that we have the same classes all day today?  I give him a small smile before setting my stuff down on a desk and laying out what I'd need for the class.  All of sudden, someone slams their stuff next to me, making me jump.  

"Well well well, what have we here?"

I look up to see a girl who has brown hair with red highlights, bright green eyes that look as if they could kill, and a smirk that's plastered across her face.

"I don't think that I've introduced myself to the almighty Aria Wong," she says with a fake laugh. "I'm Lia Park."

"Umm, hi?" I say in response.

She leans closer to me.  "Let me make one thing very clear missy," she says.  "You may be famous, have wealth, have looks and everything else a girl could want, but I am the queen of this school, and I'm bound to have some rich snob take that away from me." She looks at me with another one of her smirks and is about to walk away when she turns around to remind me of one more thing. "Also, stay away from the new transfer students.  They're none of your business, and I will make sure that they won't fall for you, only for me.  Anyways, it was nice to meet you!"  She turns around with a hair flip and walks towards her seat that's at the front of the classroom.  I feel my blood boil..I absolute hate selfish and mean people like that.  I look up from my notebook and see Renjun and Jaemin looking at me with a worried glance.  I give them a reassuring smile and look back down at my notebook waiting for the class to start.
