Jake was attending his last period in class when he rested his arms on the desk and placed his head. He closed his eyes to sleep ignoring all what the teacher was saying. Jake couldn’t sleep last night. He was wide awake trying to sketch the little girl who was always running around. Anytime he tried to close his eyes and sleep, he would feel the presence of somebody beside him.

That night,  he decided to go downstairs to the sitting room, apparently the little girl wanted to have some fun. Jake collapsed on the couch. Suddenly something crashed in the kitchen. Jake sat upright and peeped into the kitchen, he saw another ceramic plate fall and break on the floor.

“ Who is there?” he shuddered. He wasn’t so surprise but he didn’t expect things to smash on the floor

“ Just tell me who you are and what you want”

He slowly walked into the kitchen. Maria woke up from her sleep by the sound. She was a very light sleeper. Jake got to the kitchen and saw no one.
When Maria got downstairs she saw Jake standing in the kitchen in front of broken pieces of white ceramic plates.

" Jake” she muttered trying to clean off the sleepiness in her eyes. “ what are you doing”
Jake looked down at the broken pieces and then looked back up. He couldn’t put the blame on anybody, not even Hailee.

“ I am sorry mum, it was a mistake”

Marias eyes were bloodshot. She glared at him, “ We’ll talk in the morning, clean this place up” she said and went back to sleep.
In the morning she grounded him for a two weeks. Wilton had nothing to say as usual. He was a busy man who always focused on his work.

Jake was already deep in his sleep, he was around people, what could possibly happen? But the little girl had other plans. Jake dreamt that he was in school and the whole school was empty. He was wondering away, walking on the corridors when he noticed little footsteps of a child. The footstep looked like prints of blood. Curiosity kills the cat, Jake followed the footsteps into the male rest room. The footsteps stopped in front  of a huge mirror placed on the wall. He looked down to examine the footsteps once more and when he looked up she was there, in the mirror.

This time her hair was dried but still dirty. The deep cuts on her face wasn’t bleeding anymore, in fact it looked like they were starting to heal. Her emerald green eyes still glowed, her black dress still torn. She had an awkward grin on her face, the one that just revealed her upper teeth with no sincere expression of happiness. She stood still like a doll.

“ Who are you?” Jake asked as he stood in front of the mirror.

She closed her mouth “ Have you forgotten me already?”

He finally heard her speak, her voice was pleasant to hear.

“ I remember you, I just never knew you.”

“ Jack” she laughed loudly and then her face was suddenly gloomy “ too bad he died…he thought he could run away from me just like you, I guess he did”

Jake was tensed, his heart was beating fast in anger “ Who the fuck are you?” he asked again

“ Awn, angry at me because of yesterday night? Just wanted to play catch with you, I didn’t know your mum would show up” she said rolling her big eyes. Jake just stared at her, he said nothing at all.

She smiled and said “ My name is Jill. Grandad never told you about me?”

“ What do you want from me! What do you want from me?” he asked coming closer to where she was in the mirror. Out of anger he punched the mirror and then it cracked.

“ You are only hurting yourself Jake” she said and her voice echoed in his head.

Suddenly Jake woke up, he felt a sharp pain coming from the fingers of his right hand. He turned his hand and saw his fingers bruised with wound, little drops of blood dripped on the floor. The teacher noticed Jake.
“ How did that happen?”

Jake let out a little cry. He couldn’t even talk. His class mates looked at him in shock.

“ Just get to the school clinic fast” he said. Jake got up and left the class. After his hand was bandaged, school was over. As he walked down the clinic, Cindy joined him.

“ Are you alright ?”

He paused and looked into her passionate brown eyes. She looked so concerned.
Jake smiled “ I am… I’m good”

Cindy touched his hand. He could feel how warm and soft her hands were.
“ What happened”

He chuckled “ Funny how” he was just lost in her beauty. Cindy noticed and blushed, leaving his hand.

“ I know we aren’t so close… but I just…I just”

“Its okay. I really appreciate" said Jake

“ Hey Jake!” Jimmy called out from afar

“Ooh shii!” Jake exclaimed when he saw Jimmy coming closer

“ I guess I have to go now” she said turning back

“ Wait, no. wait” he said but she waved and walked away.

Jimmy came panting “ I was looking for you everywhere”
Jake frowned.

“ Oh its because of the chick isn’t it?” he chuckled “ she’ll be back”. Jimmy stared at his right hand “ Heard you broke your fingers, can you move them?

“ Nah” Jake said

“ Does it hurt?”
Jake playfully pushed him “ Dude don’t ask me that”

Nick and Dan met them by the corridor.
“ Tell me you broke that hand on someone’s face!” Dan chortled. Jake looked down.

“ Oh no he didn’t” Nick burst into laughter.
“ What the hell did you do with your hand” Dan asked.
Jake smiled and looked away. “ I punched a mirror”
They burst into laughter again except Jimmy who wondered why they were laughing.

“ Why the fuck would you punch a mirror!” Nick exclaimed

“ I was angry”

“You could have punched-" Dan paused and looked at Jimmy “ You could have punched Jimmy in the face”

They laughed again. Jimmy smiled and they joked all the way till they departed.
