Kabanata 27: Ashes

"Allison..."

I roamed my eyes, when I heard her voice. My brows arched, when I saw the surrounding. I'm in the church, wearing a white wedding gown, holding a bouquet of flowers while standing at the aisle.

"Allison..." her voice echoed in my mind.

I roamed my eyes again. I saw her standing at the edge of the aisle while wearing a white wedding dress with a genuine smile flashed onto her face.

I smiled at her. I started to walk again.

Mix emotion rushed in my whole system. This day is the best day I've waited for us. Now, I wouldn't hesitate to say 'I do' to her and live with her for the rest of our lives.

I wiped my tears, when memories flashed back in my mind. The day I saw her and from the day I was shoot--

My eyes widened, when I saw her slowly vanishing from my eyes. Even the surrounding, it is like a sand that is begun to vanish in the air.

I gulped as I found myself standing in a pure darkness. I called her name but, she didn't respond. My eyes began to water. This feeling... I hate it. It feels like, she left me already. It feels like before, when she left me without spitting a single word.

"Allison, I love you." Her voice echoed. "But, this is not the time for our forever. I'm sorry if I will leave you again. I was hurt too. I need to rest for awhile. And, you need to rest too. We suffered too much pain from the past few days. This time, I want us to breathe properly without thinking what will happen next.."

"I-iana..." I cried again.

"Allison, you're brave enough to handle this kind of situation. I will leave you for now but, I'll make sure that, once our paths intersect again, we will have our infinity once again." She stopped. "I love you, Allison. Until our paths intersect again."

"No!" I yelled as I opened my eyes.

White ceiling is the first thing I saw. My eyes began to water and my heart beats incredibly fast. I bit my lower lip as I felt my body aching from pain.

"Did you dream about her?" Mahinahong tanong ni Ylona sa akin nang makalapit.

I stared at her blankly without spilling any words. I am speechless. I don't know what to say. I only want to see Iana.

"Allison, stop!" She stopped me from standing up. I felt a warm liquid drop in my hand. "Don't try to move, Allison. You're body is still languid. Don't force yourself." She wiped her tears.

My brows furrowed. "Iana..." I whispered.

"Allison!"

Sabay kaming napatingin ni Ylona sa mga bagong dating. I tapped Alexa's back, when I started to breathe hard. She mouthed 'sorry'. I just nodded.

"You fine?" Nakangiting tanong sa akin ni Alexa.

I gently nodded my head. I roamed my eyes. Si Iana lang ang wala dito. I thought she was the one who will I see first once I open my eyes.

"Iana..." I whispered again.

Nagkatinginan silang lahat. Nangunot ang noo ko nang malungkot silang napayuko. Kinakabahan akong napatingin kay Tito Adam nang tumayo ito at lumapit sa akin. He held my hand and gently caress it. Mas lalo akong kinabahan nang magtuloy-tuloy sa pagpatak ang kaniyang luha.

"Allison... my d-daughter is already g-gone." His voice cracked.

They stopped me again from standing up. I clenched my jaw. "I want to see Iana!" Sigaw ko na ikinagitla nila.
