Your skin is a reflection of your overall health. You must develop healthy habits to take care of it. Following are some important skin-care recommendations.
Block the sun: Over time, exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun causes many changes in your skin, like age spots, colour changes, wrinkles and cancer.
Maintain a clean environment: Wash your face twice a day, once in the morning and once again before going to sleep. After cleansing your skin, use a toner and a moisturizer. Toners aid in the removal of fine traces of oil, grime, and makeup that may have escaped your notice while cleansing.
Suitable body cream/lotion: Look for a moisturizer that is appropriate for your skin type, whether it is dry, normal or oily. Oily skins benefit from moisturizers too.
Limit your outdoor time: Especially between the hours of 10AM and 2PM. Always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen having zinc oxide as a physical blocker with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 or higher. Preferably wear long-sleeved shirts, slacks, and a wide-brimmed hat to protect yourself. Sun exposure is the leading cause of skin cancer.
Consult a professional: Nobody has flawless skin. Yours may be dry or oily. You could also get rashes and acne. For more serious skin issues, consult a dermatologist.
Examine yourself: Keep a close eye on all areas of your skin for any changes in moles or patches that could signal skin cancer.
