It had been over a month since Natasha had left that place, and it had been nothing but the most agonizing month of her life, she had bought a penthouse somewhere in Los Angeles, called her family and told them that she was okay out there.

At first she had considered going back to her park, it had seemed like a good idea at the time but then she realized going back would have been pointless.

She would be going back worse than she left, and besides how was she supposed to look at those who were with their mates and pretend she didn't think anything of it or that all was well.

She felt so sorry for herself having seeing how truly worthless she was without the title of "Princess" and "Oracle",
So worthless that her own mate counted her unworthy of his mark, love and respect.

Her situation had become worse because she now had nightmares of that moment when those people laughed at her, and on other nights she had intense wet dreams about him and his glorious dragon.

Slowly her restlessness had continued to increase as the days went by and it seemed as though it was only a matter of time before she fell into depression.

Surely she could end all of this by going back there, that is if she could find her way seeing as she had no idea how she even left that day, if she could, Then she would help herself and help him too by rejecting him, probably she would save him the embarrassment of been bound to someone like her.

She had been thinking so hard that she didn't notice the hard knock going on at the door but when she finally did, she became upset that whoever stood at the other side of the door lacked manners and was in need of some schooling.

She had gotten up from her king sized bed and made her way over to the door and swinged it open only to find her cleaner grinning from ear to ear, waving what seemed like an invitation in her face in an attempt to get Natasha as excited as herself.

Truth was that if she was someone else she would have gotten an earful or better still a punch to teach them some manners, but the old lady didn't need to know that her face had just been saved.

"Linda I'm not gonna ask what brings you here but I expect you to remember that I don't entertain visitors by this time"
She had watched as Linda rolled her doe eyes before letting herself into the room, ignoring her bosses annoyance.

"I was given this by the hotel manager at the first floor-"
She began, waving the card at Natasha's face, all the while laying the garment bag she  had over shoulder.

This seemed like deja vu all over again,  the last time she had gotten a dress she had met her mate who didn't sem keen on meeting her.

"was told to tell you the color would be red so I took the liberty of ordering it for you, it's just an appreciation dinner for the guests and whatever"
The older lady had explained, squealing in excitement.

Natasha had thought about it for a second and instantly knew her answer, the only events she ever attended were the ones hosted by the park, never had she attended any on her own especially if she would be there alone, maybe this was an opportunity to see what it felt like. So Yes, she was definitely going to be in attendance.

Enthusiastically she had accepted the dress, thanked Linda and quickly rushed to the bathroom and changed into it, smoothed it out and twirled a little, giggling in excitement before rushing over to The older lady who sat with a designer black heel in hand and a Beautiful pearly clutch,
Instantly Natasha had made a mental note to drastically increase the woman's salary cause she thought the woman had spent a shit ton of money on her.

Over an hour later of caking her face with enough makeup to change her look for the evening, she had stepped out of her room, rode the elevator and made her way over to the venue of the event.

Sooner than she'd hoped she had finally found a sit in a round table that had her name on it, truth be told she didn't understand what kind of event this was, the people had no scent that could identify them as humans or shifters, they were oddly familiar with her and worse was that they kept whispering about her, smiling warmly at her or just straight up coming over to say hello or complement her look.

It had been creepy as fuck but she was choosing to ignore them and just let loose and enjoy the evening, if she was going to do that then she needed to blend in and have fun, maybe they were just like that with all their customers.

She had noticed that gradually the hall had filled up with different people piling in, she had weirdly recognized a couple of people and they seemed to be really happy to see her, sure she might have recognized them but they were definitely not her kind of crowd so she stayed out, analyzing them as they trudged about, the women dressed in elegant and extremely expensive outfits, while the men wore their perfectly tailored suits that hugged them quite well.

Soon she had accepted the champagne she was being offered and drank all of it to suite her nerves while she watched the people smile creepily at her, she couldn't complain though considering she had agreed to come here.

Finally she had decided to move from her sit to the bar, it's not like the event had began and she had heard from the woman in her table that the host hadn't arrived yet, so she might as well burn some time over there, besides she couldn't get drunk even if she tried.

She had risen from her sit and turned towards the direction she had seeing the bar but was stopped short when she saw the least person she would have ever expected to see out there and most of all he was coming over to her with so much excitement she couldn't rival him.
