The Dragon's Oracle(2)

CHAPTER 9

NATASHA :

It had been a couple of days since I'd arrived here with my mate, I couldn't exactly say it's been the best moments of my life mostly cause he had been so busy I tended to see him whenever he'd want to say goodnight or goodbye,  I ate in my room and stayed there for the most part of every day.

It's not that I didn't want to explore I really wanted to but there was no one to show me around and when I'd asked Eros he had said he was too busy for that and that I should go ahead and help myself.

Then I'd asked for Estrella but was told that she had gone to visit her family so that meant that I had two options at this point :  one was that I could just go ahead and explore on my own in hopes that I didn't trespass or get in trouble, my second option was that I could wait till my supposed mate had the time to show me his glorious kingdom, I was leaning towards just doing it on my own.

Those hadn't been my only problems of late but I seemed to be having a more life threatening situation going on,
And it  had to do with my unborn Niece who was obviously showing signs of a truly strong oracle even in her mother's womb.

Amazing as that seemed it was unfortunate that her mother's life force wasn't enough to aid her so for obvious reasons she was now tapping into mine by virtue of been the present oracle who also happened to be blood related.

I knew that in a short while she was prone to depend solely on my life force cause Arabella could only do so much for the children she was carrying, I knew the consequence of having another life force  attached to yours in our realm and the worse was that the pregnancy had three more months to go.

I wasn't going to claim that all was well cause  at this point I was beyond afraid, my days were numbered and the mere thoughts were terrifying as fuck, I knew that I didn't know where I belonged some months ago, in fact I still don't but at least I had a mate who I would have loved to be with if given the opportunity to.

I had decided that I would hold on till the third month before I go perform the rites that made her the oracle of our race, I could only pray that with the way it was going that I would be able to live that long.

    "What has you so lost in thought Tash?"
I heard Eros ask, standing so close that I could inhale his perfect scent.

  "All is well my King"
I'd smiled back, choosing to keep my thoughts away from him, I didn't know how I was supposed to tell my mate that I was dying.

   "We were supposed to have dinner with the people tonight, are you up for it?"
He'd asked still caressing my face.

  I was looking forward for a chance to see his people even if there was a part of me that was basically freaking out but I'd agreed to come along, hopefully I wouldn't be asked more questions than I was willing to answer. And I had a feeling my services were required there.

Soon I'd found myself in a room filled with more people than I had ever seen in my recent years, they were beyond beautiful and ethereal, but they were also so fucking intimidating too but I wasn't gonna show them that I felt that way. So I had slowly taken a sit beside Eros who pulled my sit back in and took his sit.

I had waited cause I thought they ate once the king had the first bite but to my greatest surprise it was the queen in their case, I almost passed out as soon as Eros had told me,  I realized it was the reason they kept staring expectantly at me.

Dinner had been going well till I had a vision that involved the gorgeous female that sat three sits away from me, I was afraid that she wouldn't listen since she didn't know me from anywhere but I'd hoped she had instincts to guide her.

Thankfully our eyes had met and I watched a beautiful blush  form in her face, she had looked away briefly before turning back to me and asked if I was okay and if the food was to my liking.

I'd smile back and asked her name which she had shyly said was Marissa.
    "you can't push the baby in your human form Marissa, I know you don't know me but I need you to please trust me"
I'd gave my best pleading look.

  "She can do it, I checked her already and she's due in a few days"
Some woman in the far left had defended, glaring at me while at it.

  "You are due to birth your son in an hour, and you cannot birth him in your human form, Marissa you must go to the sanctuary of rest and shift, let Marie take total control cause you can't do it on your own, please trust that I would never lead you to your death, just do as I've said please"

I wished I could show her what happens an hour later but I couldn't, all she had was my word and her heart.

  "It's a boy?"
She had asked, trying and failing to control the tears.

I'd nodded a yes to her question which had her smiling and crying at the same time.

    "Are you sure?"
She had asked again with tears brewing in her beautiful eyes, I knew she was asking about my statement about her shifting at this stage in pregnancy.

   "Yes Marissa, I'm a million percent sure"
I tried to reassure her cause I totally understood her dilemma.

    "You can't do that Marissa, she doesn't even know anything about your pregnancy"
The woman had screamed again causing my beast to get on edge, we hated been questioned especially if a person's life was involved.

   "I believe her"
And with that she joined her hands with that of the man I was assuming was her mate and began walking away from the dinning hall.

I'd risen from my sit so I could go back to my room, I never stayed around anyone else in moments like this, they tended to ask too many questions.
As soon as I had risen I felt arms grab mine before I was been pulled away.

I don't know where we were going but soon I found that Eros had taken me to what seemed to be a meditation chamber, I don't know how he figured its what I needed but I was beyond thankful.

   "Thank you"
He had whispered before walking away and living me on my own.
