The Dragon's Oracle(2)

CHAPTER 10

NATASHA :

  Finally I'd looked up from the knelt position I'd been in since the past hour,  I had heard the cries of the child who had miraculously been born in his human form, I guess her dragon had been careful not to harm the child.

I could hear the roar that most likely belonged to the proud male who had just become a father but most importantly I'd had the tears of joy that belonged to none other than the gorgeous female whose existence has just been blessed with a child of her own.

Now the job was done and for that I was thankful, it was always hard for me whenever events don't go positively or when I had to be the bearer of bad news.

Now that all was right in the world I could get back to the dinner I wasn't allowed to have, at least it was all worth it as far as I was concerned, except it wasn't as I wished cause as soon as I stepped foot in the hallway I was tackled to the ground by what I assumed was a male body.

If I had landed on my back I would have gone crippled for sure, thankfully I was pulled up and pulled into the tightest hug known to mankind.

    "Thank you so much your majesty, thank you"
He had whispered so emotionally I swear he was crying. I didn't know how to talk emotions or express them so I ended up awkwardly patting his back. I didn't know what I was supposed to do next so I slowly pulled away and shamefully smiled sheepishly.

I guess he understood my situation cause he had stepped away and smiled back before kissing my head and walking away.

Once I was sure that I was now alone, I began strolling through the hallways with absolutely no clue exactly where I was or where I was headed,  thankfully I had found my room so I took a shower and changed getting dressed in my pajamas before getting under the covers, I guess dinner was now a distant thought.

I had stayed up a little, thinking about a couple of things but was soon distracted by the bang on my door, it was Eros so I asked him to come in.

I guess wishes do come through cause he held a tray of different meals in his tray, I watched as he placed the meal on the bed before he pulled me up and into a comforting hug before pulling away and kissing my forehead.

  "Thank you for what you did for Marissa, she had miscarried two pregnancies already since she and Matthew started trying for children, you helped make her dream come true and for that I am eternally grateful to you baby."

I had smiled at his sincerity before kissing his cheeks.
"I was only doing my job babe"
I had actually become embarrassed as soon as the endearment left my lips but he didn't comment on it, instead we had ate in comfortable silence and soon I had fallen asleep in his arms.

  Finally it was a new day and it had started out right for me, though we had slept in but my excitement was because I woke up in the arms of Eros who had done nothing but tickled me till I had almost passed out from laughter.

Later that morning we had laid in bed talking about everything and anything till he asked me to get dressed for breakfast with everyone, he had told me how today was a holiday through out his kingdom in honor of the new member who happened to be the child that was born last night.

He had gone ahead to take me on that tour I had refused to shut up about since I arrived so you understand why I have been beyond ecstatic.

Lastly on his where to go list was the waterfall that stood ever so proudly in the center of the largest place I had ever seen, mind you, I was on his back, soaring high in the sky, screaming and bouncing in more joy than I could describe and my conclusion was that this here was home.

Unfortunately he had something to do at his office so our tour had come to an end a bit faster than I would have wanted but I understood he had a job to do so I let him go.

So here I was in my doorstep about to twist my knob but got distracted by the presence of the woman who had questioned me yesterday.
I understood her hesitation yesterday because it was her job as the healer but I had expected a bit more maturity as regards the matter.

  "Your Majesty"
She had greeted, bowing the right measure before standing straight but still leaving her head faced down.

    "Healer, how may I help you today"
I had asked without emotion, this woman had acted hostile towards me yesterday and until she showed me that I could trust her then we had nothing doing as even acquaintances.

   "I've come to apologize for my disrespect and unreasonable outburst yesterday, I was only looking out for Marissa seeing as she had lost two pregnancies already,  I hope you forgive me and let me prove myself worthy of your knowledge and experience"

Honestly I was quite taken aback by her words and now I regretted speaking to her the way I did but I wasn't gonna tell her that.

    "You are forgiven healer but you must know that I have nothing to teach you,  I am an Oracle while you are a healer, you are good at what you do and the only reason I interfered yesterday was because she would have lost her life"

I watched as she sent me a genuine smile before nodding quite happily, probably because I said she was good.

   "Go now to your wing, there is an emergency that requires your attention and may you be favoured"

With that I went into my room and laid back down and got lost in my thoughts which eventually led me to a deep slumber.
