I was at another party again.
Lackluster as before with all the sweaty bodies, dry humping, and dull music but there were only about three differences I could spot here - no relationship with Jimin, no sex (meaning no escape), and no Hye who, from reason, I felt like would show up here at this party that to me was another ample excuse of celebrating absolutely nothing.
This whole week had been depressing - from the endless rainfall and stormy clouds, to wasted hours being ticked away prepping for our stupid play that got approved as number one coming up in the matter of weeks, and finally to the radio silence in the my life without him.
It had been hard, sexually speaking, not like I was totally pining over some terrible guy who lied to me because he has nothing better do with his life per usual but I guess I could say the same about myself. I was the one with the tequila sunrise in my hand, buried under the layers and layers of people in the room and he— well, he was in the middle of the noise - eyes closed, reveled in the drumming beat of the sounds, and heat of another body, his girlfriend, my nemesis, close to his.
I hated that I was here and what I hated even more than that was that I was watching him like some creep, so enthralled with the idea of how simply okay he was, as if me bleeping out of his existence was the best thing that ever happened to him and to be truthful, it looked like it.
Like last week when he invited me over to his house, the group with me obviously, and we finished our script without any problems. He was being easy, chill even when we started practicing our roles for the play at school. And what was weirder than that was his posse who didn't harass me as much. They kept up with their usual antics and insults but not as much like before.
All of it was strange and it was even harder getting used to this new normal.
My eyes flickered towards the dance floor, strings tugging at my heart as they landed back onto the lovely couple. His hands were lost on Bae's skin, an electric wave running through them as their bodies glided against one another, a smile permeating her lips.
