School is the epitome of hell.

It had always been but I don't know why I expected it to be different. This morning consisted of finding an outfit which happened to be pretty simple when you have a girlfriend good at motivating you to actually dress yourself.

I guess I did lie, I do have a friend.

Soy and I met when I first got my job at Pizza Palace. She had worked there for a couple weeks and immediately welcomed me with a smile when I entered. She told me she just moved to Busan and was officially attending my high school for her junior year.

We also had hung out a couple of times during the summer and she even came over to my place a couple times. She hasn't uncomfortable with my verbally abusive mother and my shitty looking house.

She had began to sleep over too, telling me she wasn't a fan of being at her house a lot. I didn't push her about the subject and just let it slide.

She came over right after my mom left for work to help me pick some clothes out.

"Y/n, can you speed up? You have no food, I'm hungry, and I wanna grab some food." Soy groaned loudly, flopping down onto my bed with a thump.

I scoured my closet looking for my light blue cardigan that was buried under my shoes, "Can you just give me a sec?"

"I gave you a sec," her voice cracked, "10 minutes ago."

"Alright I'm coming!" I shouted back.

My fingers finally landed on the jacket that I had been searching for. I stood up before letting it slip over my white tank top. The cardigan reached my blue jeans and covered my arms that I hated dearly. I slipped on some sneakers and made my way out.

I rested against the wall, "What do you think?"

Soy sat up immediately, her long blonde hair whooshing against her shoulders. Her brown eyes squinted while carefully observing me.

God I felt so self conscious.

"Give me a twirl."

I quirked a brow before stiffly spinning a circle. Her laughter bounced around my small bedroom until they settled into soft chuckles.

I rolled my eyes.

"You look fucking amazing," she grinned, "really digging the whole 'I'm an aesthetically pleasing god who loves blue' look."

I once again rolled my eyes at her antics while making my way to the mirror that hung on my cream colored walls. My mom's friend had given it to her as I present a few years back but she didn't like the embroidered silver swirl patterns on it and regifted it to me.
