Chapter 7: A New Ally

Y/N's POV

"Y/N, would you like to be part of a trio? Me, you and Chat Noir." LadyBug said. My jaw dropped, I couldn't process what I just heard.

"Wait, what?" I said.

"This is the Peacock Miraculous. Are you brave enough to be it's holder? It has only been retrieved and fixed. Master and I picked you as the new Miraculous holder." she said with a jolly tone.

"Wait wait, hold up. I don't understand." I said confused. "Why me? What did I do? Why was I so worthy of being chosen?" thousands of questions came to my head with an unknown answer.

LadyBug smiled at me, a smile that was so familiar. It was almost as if it was Marinette but that's impossible. LadyBug is a superhero and Marinette is... clumsy. "You saved Alya even when you know it's going to harm you. I saw you sacrifice yourself for your friend, so I decided- i mean me and master decided, you are a perfect fit for the peacock miraculous." she said in a convincing tone. This whole time a was just staring at the box, trying to figure out if I should do it or not.

She handed me the box, "We need your help, we have a plan to defeat Hawkmoth for good." she said and quickly I looked back at her. She went one step closer to me. Folding her arms, her foot lightly tapping on the wooden floor. She looked as if she was in a hurry, not exactly. She looked like she was... excited for me to put the Miraculous on. I shifted my gaze back at the box.

"You need me? But why? I don't understand how much help I'm going to be." I said and she chuckled at me. "Don't I need some kind of training first? I don't have super agility or anything like that..." I added.

"You'll do great, Y/N. Trust me." her voice was so tender and made me want to do it. I closed my eyes and thought to myself for a bit. There's no guarantee that I'll be safe but what's the worse that could happen. LadyBug and Chat Noir will always protect me. Though, there's also no guarantee that they'll always be there to protect me. Besides, I don't have skills or anything. I'm good with volleyball, yes but that doesn't mean I'm going to have super reflex or insane dexterity. LadyBug won't always be there to catch me when I fall. My eyes went back up to LadyBug. She was smiling as I already agreed to being a superhero. Her smile was so familiar, her facial features, her voice, her hair... she reminds me of Marinette.

That's right! I need to distract myself from Adrien. I need to be a superhero to forget about my feelings for Adrien. If it's even possible, that is.

"I'll... I'll do it." I bravely said and she cheered.

"If you want to activate it, you say 'Duusu, Spread My Feathers', and when you want to detransform you say, 'Duusu, Fall My Feathers' okay?" She explained and I nodded.

I opened the box and a blue and green ombre light shaped like an orb came out of it. It formed into a small human like creature that's head was way larger than it's body.

"Hi! I'm Duusu, I'm the Peacock Miraculous' kwami." the kwami introduced. 'Duusu' had blue eyes and blue feathers that ombres to green, she was filled with peacock feathers and had the elongated tail of a peacock, which were also the same color of a peacock's.

I got startled and dropped the box but before everything was too late, LadyBug caught it. "Careful! This was only recently fixed, we can't have it breaking again." she said.

See, the Peacock Miraculous is the easiest to destroy, it was sensitive. Not that sensitive but wooden floors or planks or anything wood could easily smash or destroy it. If you're wondering, yes it can still be fixed but you'd have to go to a very long journey to find the mighty creator. He's the only one who can fix any Miraculous.

"I'm sorry." I said and she smiled at me softly.

"I missed my original color, I didn't quite like being purple Duusu." the kwami continued.

The Peacock Miraculous was broken, which explains why Duusu was purple. However, due to the mighty creator, everything went fine. It was broken by Emilie Agreste. Something happened with Emilie and Gabriel that damaged the Miraculous, putting Emilie in a death-like coma. When they retrieved the Miraculous, it was purple. Though LadyBug and Chat Noir couldn't leave Paris, so Rena Rouge and Carapace had to travel together to find the mighty creator. At least, that's what Ladybug told me at the party.

She handed me the box again and I saw a purple brooch that looked like a Peacock's tail. I took the brooch out of the box and pinned it on my shirt and suddenly it changed color.

"That's the Miraculous' camouflaged form. It changes back to purple when activated." LadyBug explained.

In its camouflaged form, the brooch looks like a peacock with the shape of a peacock's body and head at the bottom center and with nine light sea-green tail feathers coming out from it. It has a gold pearl-like gem on each tail feather segment and a blue gem at the base, serving as the body of the peacock.

"What are you?" I asked the tiny being.

"I'm Duusu, your kwami!" she repeated.

"What's a kwami?" I asked, she looked at LadyBug with a 'really, that's your best pick?' look. LadyBug smiled at her patting her head with her pinky.

"Kwamis are spirit-like, 'abstract' creatures that give certain power to people with Miraculouses, transforming them into animal-themed super beings." the kwami explained and I nodded.

"Okay so, what's my power?" I asked Duusu. She smiled at me and flew closer.

"You can release feathers from your weapon which is a fan, those feathers are called amoks. Amoks can possess other people's objects to enlarge and monsterify a person's feelings. Those monsters are called sentimonsters." she explained. I looked at her attentively.

"You have a special power and you can activate it by saying 'Peafowl's Sound'. It enlarges your already large amok." Duusu finished.

"Cool, my power's pretty strong!" I said, smiling at Duusu. My eyes went to LadyBug again.

"Thank you for agreeing to this, Y/N. I have to go now. Duusu will explain everything, won't you Duusu?" she said and the kwami nodded.

I smiled at her and said, "Anytime LB. I'm always willing to help." LadyBug grinned at me.

"Bug out!" she yelled before swinging off to somewhere.

"C'mon Duusu, let's go inside." I said, walking back into my room, followed by Duusu. I closed the glass door and shut my curtains again.

I sat on my bed with Duusu floating around me. It was currently 7:23 pm. Duusu flew to my pillow and sat down. "Okay, Duusu. Tell me more." I smiled. Not gonna lie, I'm excited with this superhero trio thing. It's not everyday I get the chance to save Paris.

Duusu and I spent the night with her explaining and talking about things while I ask. It's going to be awesome.
