Reincarnation Inconsistency

When he woke up, he was lying on vast ground. The first thing he felt was the rough texture of dried leaves against his back. It was a vast ground covered in olive green dried ruffling leaves. The first thing his eyes had laid upon were tall fern trees glistening because of marigold rays of sunshine touching its branches and leaves. Ozymandias closed his eyes for a moment and heard the familiar chirping birds that had used to sooth him. He opened his eyes, sat and browsed the area. Tall, tall, tall trees. Land of fern trunks and olive green dried leaves. The peaceful chirping of birds no one had ever seen. And the soft mellow sunlight that never changes as the time there did not exist. He was embraced by the blissful ambiance. Ozymandias knew he was back in Saiavy, the realm of half-devils called devilbirds.

At the corner of his left eye, just a few meters away was a single house built in serenity that caught his attention. It was almost... just a plain gray stone box that it hardly qualifies as what house is defined in human realm. It was a small one. It had no windows, no roof and everyone knows inside that was nothing but an empty cold space. The only thing that makes the gray stone box a house was that, it had a huge door allowing an entrance to its small space inside. While Ozymandias stared at it, the door opened. And he saw a familiar woman. She was Rupinta.

Ozymandias, as if going by his ancient routine found himself strolling towards that door where his fellow devilbird welcomed him with a smile. He had discerned that he was not back in Saiavy. He was reliving the past life he had in this hazy momentum. And for some reason, despite not having the human realm and the earlier events erased from his memory, Ozymandias was peculiarly so calm. Almost as if he was as empty as he used to be. Was it the chirping of the birds? Or was it the nostalgia the tall trees and dried leaves spring to his being? He did not know. All he was sure of was that he was internally embraced by this serene occurrence.

Inside the house was the virile-looking Enegue wearing a stern face. Ozymandias then ascertained that Commander Callum really was just his human form. And as serenity embraced him even more despite the much certainty in his mind, Ozymandias just felt strangely calm. He was so, so lethargic. It felt so peaceful in this hazy situation that he did not even try to do anything.

Before he could step closer to where Enegue stood, the scenes changed. He found himself grasped into an inevitable kaleidoscope of memories in a way that he was as if reliving them together with Rupinta and Enegue. They were seen interacting with the other devilbirds as they fly around the tall trees from time to time. Sometimes, they are resting on the large branches at the top of the tall trees looking up at the never-changing marigold sky in their world. It was always just the three of them. Rupinta, Enegue and Ozymandias in their peaceful and quiet world.

Until in the next memory, Ozymandias was with a different devilbird. This devilbird, unlike the other devilbirds expressed entirely different world to Ozymandias. Just when it was almost clear to him that the creatures of their kind never needed connecting ways for they had, without fail, mutually understood each other without speaking out loud or displaying a variety of emotion in their faces, this devilbird showed him otherwise. She was Philistine. A devilbird who smiled, who laughed. who get surprised, get teased and sometimes, pouts. In that quiet and balanced realm, Ozymandias learned an inconsistency in its serene flow. She was one brilliant inconsistency.

It did not take them too long to feel affection towards each other. They would be the ones flying around the tall trees, lying on the dried leaves looking at the marigold sky and in each time, they would fill the environment with laughter. They were always side by side that when they have to get away from one another, that was only when time felt flowing in their world. Truly, Philistine and Ozymandias have developed a close relation any other pair of devilbirds could not plausibly take the risk of having. It was the first relationship to ever exist in their serene and balanced world.
