Yeah, so, I decided to make a book all about BDSM and different kinks. This is for beginners, who don't know much about the lifestyle, differences and all included kinks.

Wax Play is a "play" where the Dom/Domme drips Wax over their submissive's body.
This may also be combined with temperature play. There, for example, is the candle placed under the Sub's body (when they are tied up above the ground), and the candle is lowered under their back, or higher.
This way, the Sub can feel the hot fire and it can set adrenaline free.

But enough about that, let's continue the Wax play lesson!
There are different kinds/types of wax, and that plays an important role in this type of scene.
You shouldn't use wax that has perfumes in it. That can easily irritate the skin, burn way too hot and cause damage.
The most used wax is called Paraffin and Soy wax. (Avoid Beeswax!! That is the worst wax you could possibly use for this play!)
Soy= can burn up to 110° Paraffin= can burn to 130°
This is the safest option, because these are natural waxes without any perfumes or chemicals.
Now the heat:
You don't like too much pain ? Then maybe look for a different candle.

Will burn way hotter, because the wax drips straight from the fire. But you can control the places where the wax should go better.
So maybe use the ones in a glass or metal cup/bowl instead. Like these:

Here the wax has time to cool down a bit, but the fire still keeps it as liquid and is warm/hot. You can also control how much wax you want to use.
Safeties:
Before you start the scene, you should lay some things aside. That includes:
-ice cubes -water
-a blanket/or plastic mat so the wax doesn't drip on the floor (=prep for easy clean-up)
-be careful with the fire! Before caring for your sub, set the fire aside, at a safe place or better yet: blow it out
-avoid body hair! It's going to be a pain in the ass to clean the wax off. So maybe shave on the place you want the wax. (=prep your skin and hair!)
-put lotion/oil on your skin before the wax. That can make the clean-up easier for you. Again, you body safe oil/lotion that you know doesn't irritate your skin!
After the scene:
Aftercare is important! Put the candles away, give your sub a massage and a hot shower melts the wax away on its own.
But don't forget: Dominants need aftercare too! Tell them how good they were, because dom drop exists too! (Will make a chapter about them <3)

You don't want to end the scene ? Then use a flogger on the wax! The sensitive skin and pain of the flogger mix very well for masochists.
