"Phew!" Leo sighed, wiping a bead of sweat from his forehead and smeared his dirty hands on his shirt just as his stomach grumbled. He had just completed making a dozen of celestial bronze swords and was already feeling exhausted. He thought back to the other inventions that had to be made before examining the Archimedes sphere.
"Leo! You've been working all morning! You need to eat!" Leo heard Calypso's voice shout.
"One more second..." Leo mumbled, making one last tweak.
"Eat! You can do this after you have energy!" Calypso once again yelled, forcing him out of the room.
"Can't I do that later? Or can't we go get some food together?" Leo whined, staring at Calypso with the best puppy eyes he could manage.
"Gods," Calypso grumbled, "do I really have to force you?" She questioned, but with one look at Leo, she threw her arms up in exasperation and snapped, "Fine! Clean yourself up, we're going to the kitchens."
"YAY!" Leo squealed, hugging Calypso tightly while almost tipping over her pot of soup. Leo dashed into the small bathroom with a grin with a grin, hastily rinsing his hands and washing his face. He jumped toward Calypso and started dragging her toward the hallway into the kitchens as he could smell the spicy scent wafting through the entrance.
"Sit here!" Calypso pointed toward the tall stool in front of a lunch counter before scurrying into the back door and returning with a bowl filled with soup, a plate piled with fruits and vegetables, and a cup of cider. She stood close enough so that Leo could smell the faint cinnamon smell of her caramel hair.
How does she balance all of that at once? Leo pondered, shifting on the stool, and couldn't help but staring at her. Calypso was wearing a long, white dress and a sleeveless top with straps with a gleaming gold sash tightly wrapped around her waist. Her orange-red hair was in a long braid that came down to her waist and wisps of hair blew around. Her face was dotted with several freckles and her dark almond eyes shimmered in the rays of sunlight.
"I need to serve the other customers," Calypso said sternly, turning on her heel while grabbing several bottles of cider.
"But... Why can't you stay with me?" Leo pleaded after snapping out of his trance, staring into Calypso's eyes innocently.
Her face softened.
"Later," she promised and pecked Leo's lips. His face brightened and he said, "Okay, Mamacita." Calypso glared at him before walking out of the door with multiple bottles of apple cider.
Leo slowly drank his soup and swallowed bites of fruit, feeling slightly glum once Calypso had left. They had been so busy ever since their shop opened, that they didn't have a lot of time to be with each other alone. Their business was going well, but Leo sometimes thought that there was too much pressure.
At least I'm almost finished with the surprise~ Leo thought suddenly, brightening up before shoveling down all the food quickly and hastily washing the dishes.
Calypso would wonder where I'm going if I go out the front door... And then my plan would be busted! Leo pondered as his eyes wandered toward an open window where sunshine was streaming through.
"Bad Boy Supreme strikes again!" Leo exclaimed and flexed his imaginary muscles as he walked toward the window and flung himself out. Ow! Something red, green, and sharp had caught him. "Oh great" he muttered under his breath, "Cal's gonna kill me if she finds out I fell into her rosebush". Leo winced as a thorn pricked him where the sun don't shine. And his elbow. And his leg. When did Cal even plant this thing? he wondered quietly to himself.
