Operation Sugar Rush: Percy

Nico's POV.

"Have you seen Will?" I asked a nearby Apollo camper as he was practicing archery.

"He's taking care of something in the forest. I'm not sure of what though," He answered, not sparing a glance at me.

After saying my thanks, I jogged toward the bushy trees when I suddenly heard a high-pitched squeal coming from that direction. Running out of the trees in a blur was Percy, who seemed to be very energetic and happy, with Will and Annabeth running from behind and trying to catch up with him.

"PERCY!" Annabeth yelled, her frustration coming in waves off of her.

"ANNIE!!!!!!! SUGAR!!! BLUE COOKIES!!!!!!" Percy happily screamed before running in a circle. Seriously. What did he do this time? Last time he ran into a tree because he was so excited about Sally's cookies, and the time before that, he fainted because Annabeth told him that they wouldn't be eating for a couple of hours because they were going to go on a hike.

"Nico! Thank gods you're here! Can you go get Thalia right now?" Annabeth stopped in front of me breathlessly while eyeing the overly energetic Percy who was screaming the lyrics of some song in an off-tuned voice. "Thanks. Talk to you later!"

I stood there dumbfounded as she turned back to yell at Percy. Am I supposed to know where Thalia is? She could be anywhere? She could be in the middle of Australia for the sake of being a hunter!

"How am I supposed to find Thalia?" I called out.

"I don't know- Use Iris Messaging or something!" Annabeth faintly shouted back.

I swear- Does she expect me to carry drachmas around everywhere? Groaning, I sprinted toward the Poseidon cabin and barged in before looking through Percy's things. Hey, don't look at me like that! I don't have drachmas, and he's the reason why I have to Iris Message someone! So might as well use his money... He has a lot anyways.

Opening the windows, I threw my windows into the sprinkler devices outside the Demeter Cabin, murmuring, "Oh Iris, Goddess of the Rainbow, please accept my offering. Show me, Thalia Grace, from who-knows-where." Hopefully, that'll work. And hopefully, I won't need a location. Now that I'm wondering... Why am I even doing this? Like, as long as Percy doesn't come screaming at me, I'm chill.

I flashed back to the last time I refused to eat this nasty pill from Will after shadow traveling... Yep. Nevermind. Will is just a third as terrifying as Annabeth when he's mad. And Annabeth is absolutely terrifying even when she isn't mad. Better be safe and then sorry.

Anyways, the mist flashed to some barren desert where a mass of hunters was attacking the last of the opponent's side. As the other side went down, they high-fived each other in satisfaction, still not noticing me.

"Death Breath? What do you need?" Thalia turned around, startled to see my face. The other hunters fell dimly silent and watched me.

"Erm.. Well... Apparently, Annabeth told me to come get you because Percy is crazy or something," I awkwardly replied while scratching my neck.

"Define crazy."

"He started singing off-tune lyrics and screaming absolute random things out of the blue, which seems pretty crazy to me," I stated. "Anyways, where are you?"

"Again?! This is the fifth time this month! Didn't everyone already learn not to feed him candy? I swear to the gods if this happens one more time..." She murmured with a look of exasperation on her face.

"Location?" I repeated again.

"We're in the Gobi Desert," She said. "And you better get here quick... I'm not gonna wait ten minutes just so you can pick me up."

"Yeah, yeah," I muttered, rolling my eyes before cutting the Iris Message and shadow traveling to Mongolia/China. In a flash of a second, I appeared in the desert... in the sky. Apparently, I had landed approximately 500 ft in the air. Starting to fall, I bit back a horrified scream when I fell onto a... Ouch... cactus. A pretty prickly one if I must say so myself. I painfully hobbled off and may have said a few colorful words as I pulled out the thorns from my butt.

Dang. It's hotter than I imagined it would be... And it's pretty big. Should I be knowing the exact location? Cause I don't think I'll be wandering around here and find her anytime soon.

"Chiron should wash your mouth out with soap, Death Breath! You cuss like a sailor!" A familiar, annoying voice came from behind me.

Turning around, there was a group of about twenty girls stifling their laughs with Thalia standing in front.

With a scowl, I grumbled, "Let's just go."

I put my hand on her shoulder hesitantly and shadow traveled away, fading sounds of laughter echoing as we left.

When we got back to camp, immediate chaos greeted me. Percy was trying to get a piggyback ride and yelling, "GIDDYUP ANNIEEE!!! GIDDYUP HORSY!!!!!! GIDDYUP!!!" Their other friends were standing around the scene, laughing their heads off as Annabeth was forced to carry her seventeen-year-old boyfriend. Coach Hedge was among them, holding a tv remote, muttering, "Stupid cupcakes. You interrupted Chuck Norris! And it was getting to the good part!" He yelled out the last part.

"Oh, good. You're here. Jason's too much of a goody-two-shoes to zap him, so you gotta do it," Leo said when he saw us, grinning maniacally.

Thalia rolled her eyes and threw her arms in the air, shouting, "Get outta the way, Annie!"

Annabeth nodded before dumping her boyfriend on the ground, who was now singing 'Yankee Doodle' with a goofy smile on his face, and joined her friends.

A blast of lightning cracked from the sky and jolted Percy, leaving a smoky hole on the ground. The effect was immediate when he groaned, rubbed his face tiredly, and stumbled to his feet.

"Okay.. So what did I miss?"

Leo grinned evilly. It was clear that he was the one who caused this whole scene.

"Well, let's see. You climbed on a tree, danced on it, sang really off-key.. Like dude. You gotta get some tutoring on that. And you tried to get piggyback on your girlfriend while singing 'Yankee Doodle'. I don't know, what did you miss?"

Flushing, Percy groaned.

"You're the one who gave me skittles, dude!" He defended himself. Everyone else gasped, before sighing.

"That explains it," Jason mumbled.

Piper smacked Leo on the back of his head, scolding him, "You know that Percy gets super hyperactive when he eats skittles! And we always end up getting Thalia who then has to zap him with lightning!"

"Well, we all need some fun in our lives. Right? And Percy ate it willingly anyways. I just offered it to him," Leo reasoned.

Annabeth glared daggers at him, stalking up to him while Leo made the smartest decision he could: He turned on his heel and ran for his life.

"Sucks to be you, man!" Percy yelled after him after Annabeth started running after him.

I rolled my eyes, while Thalia said," Okay. You better shadow travel me back to the Gobi Desert."

"My job is done here. Bye," I smirked and turned around heading for Will and shadow traveled away with him, while Thalia was still yelling many profanities at me.

I was probably gonna pay for that next time I saw her. But who cares?
