Happy Belated Birthday, Annabeth! Hope that you actually did get a huge party at Camp Half-Blood!
"No, the party should have a blue cake," Percy Jackson argued, waving his hands for emphasis.
"No, Kelp Head! It should be grey! She's a daughter of Athena, not a daughter of Poseidon!" Thalia Grace rolled her eyes.
"Yes, but blue is the best color out there! Plus, she loves me, so she should like blue too!" Percy huffed.
"Guys, guys," Piper Mclean stepped between them, holding her hands up. "We could do both! We don't have time for this! Annabeth's birthday is in two days! We gotta hustle, not argue about every detail for two hours like you did with the tables!"
Well, let's step back. The two cousins had argued about the tables' size earlier that day for nearly three hours while everyone else was waiting for the final decision for the tables, and Piper had to end that argument too. And so they just ended up with plain, round tables.
"Whatever." Percy and Thalia grumbled but didn't complain.
Time Skip to Annabeth's Birthday.
"Wake up! Wake up!" Piper sang as she barged into Annabeth's cabin. The whole Athena cabin burst into protests.
"Do you mind?" Malcolm Pace grumbled angrily.
"Yes! I do, in fact!" Piper grinned as she shooed everyone out of the room before turning to Annabeth, who had buried her head under her pillow.
"Leave me alone," the daughter of Athena mumbled, her voice muffled.
"Not a chance. Rise and shine! We're going birthday shopping!" Piper's eyes sparkled as she dragged Annabeth out of bed. Quite literally.
Yes, she had wanted to take Annabeth shopping, but that wasn't the only reason why. Piper's job was to distract Annabeth from the surprise party that the whole camp had been planning for days.
"Wear this!" Piper threw Annabeth a silky grey-blue dress that had appeared from nowhere. Annabeth frowned as Piper chucked a pair of silver, greek style sandals at her.
"Why a dress? And I don't think I even own that," Annabeth stared in disbelief at the knee-length dress that her friend had picked out for her.
"Simple. I bought it. Just change, we're leaving in 10!" Piper cheekily smiled before gently shoving her into the bathroom.
Annabeth reluctantly changed and exited the bathroom, uncomfortable, but looking stunning.
"You look beautiful!" Piper cried, rushing toward her. "Now, sit! Sit! I have to do your hair."
She spun her friend around before carefully french-braiding her hair.
"Beautiful! Let's go!" Piper grabbed Annabeth's hand and dragged her out of the cabin, not even giving her the chance to talk.
"Wait, wait. Where are we going... And- and we didn't even have breakfast?" Annabeth questioned, confuzzled at what was happening.
"It's your birthday, silly! And we're going to drive to the nearest mall. And we can eat breakfast together at a cafe." Laughing, they got into the car and Piper pulled out of the driveway.
To be completely honest, Annabeth had wanted to spend time with her boyfriend that day and had not expected to go shopping, but she obliged to her friend's excitement.
