Over the last three weeks Dana and Robert had met every other day to get to know each other more. The rest of the time she spent time with her family and friends to make up for the fact that she wasn't going to be there during the holidays.

She was just spending quality time with her brother and Charlie while packing her things for Malibu. Her little brother and her best friend got along very well. Charlie was practically family.

"Wait, don't they have alpacas there?" Charlie asked.

"Yes. Alpacas, Kunekune pigs, chickens, goats, Oreo cows, he's like Dr. Dolittle." Dana answered, laughing at her best friend's surprised face as she listed all the animals. "But what I'm thinking about: what if the kids don't like me?" She asked, her voice showing her anxiety.

Charlie chuckled. "Dana, kids love you. They run away from me and into your arms. Also, didn't you tell me that they were excited to meet you?"

Oscar piped in. "Imagine being so excited and then there comes Dana."

Charlie slapped his arm playfully, "Not helping, dude."

Dana grinned at their behavior. "Ok, so I think I am done with packing." She overlooked her stuff. "Aah, wait, I need pajamas."

Charlie laughed."Wow, you'd forget your head if it wasn't attached to your neck. Anyways, you need to call me at least every other day. And I don't care about time zones; don't give me that shit." She added as Dana opened my mouth to say something.

"I was going to say that I am of course calling you. How am I going to survive without you, darling?" She teased.

"Kiss already." Oscar said as the girls laughed.

"Not yet, but if we're single in 20 years from now, maybe I'll consider it, my dear future brother-in-law." Charlie joked.

"I think he could have worse in-laws." Dana stated. "Right, Os?"

He was going to say something rude but Charlie interrupted him quickly. "Don't say something you'll regret later." She threatened mockingly.

"I'll use my right to remain silent." He stated seriously.

Dana giggled."Ok, first of all, stop watching all those crime series and second get to bed and sleep. It's late." "I'm gonna leave, too. I think my grandma has left by now."Charlie said, cringing at the thought of her incredibly homophobic and sexist grandmother.

"Okay, bye-bye. I'll call you tomorrow just before I get on the plane." Dana looked at her apologetically; her grandmother was really something."I love you." She called as her friend was almost out of the door.

"I love you too, honey. I'll come after your head if you don't call." Charlie shouted back.

When Charlie and Oscar were gone, Dana got her pajama and her underwear and went to the bathroom. As she stood under the shower her thoughts turned back to meeting Susan and the kids.

What if the kids, Indio or Susan don't like her?

Dana came to the conclusion that it wouldn't help to worry about it now and got out of the shower. She put her pajama on and brushed her teeth. After she went to her parents' bedroom to wish them a good night and say good bye to her mom. She wouldn't be able to see her in the morning because she has an early shift tomorrow and leaves at 3 am.

She went to bed and fell into a dreamless yet restless sleep.

When Dana woke up the next morning at seven, she felt like she didn't sleep a second and a look in the mirror showed her that she looked like it too.
