Chapter 5 - digdug

I didn't sleep for the rest of the night, I was scared of going back to sleep. I was lucky it wasn't like 2 AM, but already 4:30 AM. Still very early, but I didn't want to wake up anyone. I went out of bed to the bathroom to watch my face. I was still shaking. I have to tell them. Joyce has to know what has taken over Will. They need to know, with knowing it's the mind flayer they can search how to stop it. I couldn't really get my mind off it, so I went back to the room, searched for a small light that wasn't bright, and started reading to get my mind off.

I was surprised that I wasn't even tired at 6:30 AM. I knew the Alarm clock would go in 5 minutes, so I slowly put down the book and went back in the bad so it seemed like I just slept for the past 3 hours and indeed 5 minutes later I heard an alarm and a sleepy Robin snoozing it. ''Hey sleepyhead.'' ''Ughh, how are you so awake so fast?'' ''Dunno, I just am.'' ''Well, I'm not, can you wake me in 5 minutes again.'' ''Sure, but you gotta be up at 7'' ''Alright'' Robin turned away from me, and not a minute later she was sleeping again. I already changed,  combed my hair. It's currently still short, but it reaches my ears. I love how I can just get my hand through my hair, it's amazing to have that feeling again after 10 years of being close to bald. 

At 7 Robin was awake, and at 7:10 she was fully dressed and almost fully awake. ''Let's have breakfast, I heard your mom and Archie in the kitchen already.'' ''Let's go then I'm so hungry.'' ''Morning girls, how did you sleep?'' Asked Jessica as soon as we came in. ''I slept... great, really calming. Thanks for asking.'' I couldn't tell Robin about the nightmare and me being awake for 3 hours already. I had to tell her someday, but not now, not today. I don't know how she's gonna react and I'm scared for it. ''Robin, you gotta take the bike to work today or walk. I need the car for grocery shopping. Tessa, do you have a bike that I can pick up now very fast with the car?'' ''Yeah, I have one at home. I can pick it up fast, it's not that busy in the streets right now and I know how to drive.'' ''That'd be wonderful, you can go after breakfast.'' And after breakfast I was sitting alone in the car, this could be the opportunity to tell Joyce that I know what has taken over Will. I knocked at the door, no answer, I knocked again, nothing. I walked through the back door since it was always open when someone was at home and awake. Luckily the door was open.I forgot about the headache that would enter my head as soon as I came in. I had to use my powers to make it less, didn't work of course so I stopped trying and just went inside with the fucking headache. ''Joyce? Jonathan? Will?'' I yelled through the house. Joyce came to me: ''What. What are you doing here Tessa? We're really busy'' ''I can see that'' I looked past Joyce and saw that the whole house was covered with drawings that formed something together. ''I came to pick up my bike and I know what has taken over Will.'' ''You know? How, how is the headache by the way, what do you feel?'' ''It's getting worse and worse, I can't stay long. But Will is taken over by...'' ''By what??'' I suddenly couldn't talk anymore, I tried my best so hard, but the mind flayer was blocking him.'' I signed to Joyce that I couldn't talk. ''Okay, get the bike and whenever you see one of the boys tell to them what has taken over Will, or sign it to them somehow, please.'' I nodded, grabbed my bike key and grabbed my bike, put it in the back of the car and drove back to Robin's. As soon as I left my house I could talk again. ''It's the mindflayer...'' I had to tell Dustin, Lucas or Mike this. They have to know. It won't take long before the mind flayer has taken over Will and he can't go back. 

''Hey, I gotta work at the arcade today. Wanna come?'' ''Yeah, of course, I love the arcade, but I don't have any money.'' ''That's no problem since I work there I have a pass and can play everything for free. You can have that pass for today.'' ''Really?'' ''Yeah really.'' ''Thank you so much'' and I kissed Robin on her cheek and at 10:30 AM we were cycling to the arcade. I almost bumped into Lucas when I was on my way to the Tetris machine. ''Hey Lucas, what are you doing here?'' ''I'm gonna explain everything to Max, she should be here.'' ''What do you mean, everything?'' ''Everything that happened last year, with the upside down and Eleven and Will and all of that.'' ''You're sure?'' ''Yeah I'm sure, she has the right to know.'' ''Okay fine. I'll help.'' ''Why?'' ''Because you need proof, do you really think she is gonna believe you without proof?'' ''Yeah okay, I need you for proof.'' ''I think she just arrived,'' I said pointing at the digdug machine and a screaming Max with Keith. ''Then we gotta go to the back where Keith is gonna take her right now, let's go.'' And I followed Lucas to the back where Max also could arrive any minute.
