Chapter 1 - Madmax

It has been a year since Eleven is gone, I still pray that she's alive every day. I just don't believe that she's gone, she can't be. But at least since those events my life has taken a big turn and a good one. I have a normal life now. In December last year, I went one day to school. Now I go every day. Nancy and I became quite close, she's still together with Steve, although I don't believe they'll be together much longer. When I'm not with Nancy, I'm with Jonathan, he's a real nice guy. Honestly, he's my stepbrother now, he lets me take pictures with his camera and it's amazing. I turned 16 in February and Joyce threw this really big party, even though I just wanted to stay home and just watch a movie with friends. She wanted it to be big and I quote: ''You don't turn 16 every day and this is your first real birthday since the lab.'' It ended up being a really amazing day. I got presents; I got a blue and white dress from Nancy and her old bike since she didn't use it and I really liked cycling, Jonathan and Joyce gave me a camera and Steve got me some jewelry to put in the music box I got last Christmas from Nancy. We ate cake, watched a movie, played some games. Later I went to Mike's and played D&D with the boys. They got me a lot of candy as a present and as the last really big present that was from Hopper, he promised me that he would give me driving lessons, I had some so far, I know how to drive on an empty road. So that's really cool! That's all the big things that happened last year I think.

Will, Joyce, and I are sitting in the car and Joyce drives us to the Arcade. I've been saving up some money (10$) from my job at Joyce's work to spend at the Arcade cause I love all the games there so much, but my favorite game has to be Tetris. I'm really good at it, but I'm wandering off. We arrive at the Arcade and the other boys just arrived. ''Okay, so I'll pick you 2 up in two hours, that's 21:00 on the dot, okay?'' ''Okay'' I said ''If anything happens, if you need to come home just ask them to use their phone and call home, okay? Don't...'' Mike finished his mom's sentence while bouncing on his seat of excitement. ''... Don't walk or ride the bike home. We know.'' ''Okay, but sweeties'' ''Mom, we have to go'' ''Have fun'' ''Thanks Joyce.'' ''When Will was out of the car I added to my last sentence. ''I promise I'll keep an eye on him. We're gonna have fun tonight, I promise.'' ''Thank you Tessa. You have fun too'' I opened the door and went to the others.

We started with Dragon's lair. ''I still don't get what's the point of this game. You have to save the pretty woman from a dragon?'' ''Yeah, Dustin almost finished the game. He almost got the high score.'' ''The pretty woman has a name'' Dustin said while playing. ''Her name is princess Daphne'' ''Sure man.'' Dustin was cursing while his character got fried by the dragon. ''No, No, no! I hate this overpriced bullshit!'' ''You're just not nimble enough, but you'll get there one day. Until then princess Daphne is still mine.'' Lucas said with a dreamy face. ''Whatever, I'm still tops at centipede and digdug.'' ''You sure about that?'' A voice said coming from behind us, we all turned to the voice and it revealed to be Keith  ''Sure about what?'' Oh no, Dustin worked so hard on those scores. How did somebody defeat him? We ran to the digdug machine revealing that Dustin wasn't the top score anymore but somebody called 'MadMax' ''751 300 points! That's impossible'' I said. ''Who is MadMax'' Dustin said to Keith  ''Better then you'' He answered. ''Is it you?'' Will asked while Dustin put up his middle finger. ''You know I despite digdug he got as answer'' ''Then who is it?'' I asked ''Yeah, spill it Keith!'' ''You want information? I need something in return.'' He looked at me eating his chips.  Dustin, Mike, Lucas and Will also turned their faces to me. ''Hell no. I'm not going on a date with you, just never.'' ''Come on Tessa, just go on that date.'' ''I'm not selling myself for a stupid name on a game'' ''But it's for a good cause.'' ''No. Don't get him the date, he's gonna spread that nasty-ass rash to you'' ''Acne isn't a rash and it isn't contagious you prepubescient wastoid.'' ''Whatever, Keith you won't get that date, you never will. I'm gonna play tetris cause I do have the highscore on that.'' I left the guys and went to the tetris machine. The thing still had my nickname 004 at the top.
