Chapter 9 - the gate

After the hug Eleven and I had and the awkward and shocked faces of everyone I stepped aside so that Mike and El could have their moment. Honestly they're so adorable together. ''Eleven.'' ''Mike.'' They said before hugging each other, El was almost in tears. ''Is that?'' Max asked in a whisper voice to Dustin and Lucas and they nodded.''I never gave up on you. I called you every night for ...'' ''353 days... I heard.'' ''Why didn't you tell me you were there? That you were okay?'' ''Because I wouldn't let her.'' Hopper answered. ''And how long did you know?'' ''Just a week, at halloween.'' ''The hell is this? Where you been?'' ''Where have you been?'' Hopper and Eleven argued. Well I don't know if it was arguing or not cause after those sentences Hop came in to hug El. ''You've been hiding her'' Mike said, I could feel that he was upset about it ''You've been hiding her this whole time!'' He said and pushed Hopper in the back. ''Hey! Let's talk. Alone.'' Hopper and Mike went into Jonathan's room to talk alone. They were both screaming and at the end we heard Mike crying. In the meantime Eleven hugged everyone else. ''We missed you.'' Lucas said while he and Dustin were hugging El. ''I missed you too.'' ''We talked about you pretty much everyday.'' When she stepped back she stared kinda weird at Dustin, grabbed is mouth and felt his teeth ''Teeth.'' She said. ''What?'' ''You have teeth.'' ''Oh, you like these pearls?'' After that Dustin grawled in a very weird way. Eleven looked kinda disgusted, that looked kinda funny. ''Eleven?'' Max said and she walked to us. ''Hey, uhm. I'm Max'' She held her hand out to shake El's ''I've heard a lot about you'' She left Max hanging, ignored her and went to Joyce. ''Hey, hey sweetheart.'' Joyce started comforting Eleven, they were both close to crying ''Can I see him?'' She asked and she walked with Joyce to Will's room. We followed them, ''You opened this gate before, right?'' ''Yes.'' ''Do you think if we got you back there you can close it?'' ''Yes.'' 

We started making a big plan on how to close the gate. ''It's not like it was before, it has grown.'' Hopper explained, he had seen the gate on how big it was now. ''A lot, I mean that's considering we can get in there that place is crawling with dogs.'' ''Demodogs'' Dustin improved him ''I'm sorry, what?'' ''I said, uh, Demodogs. Like Demogorgons and dogs, you put them together. It sounds pretty badass.'' ''How is this important right now?'' Hopper asked louder than he was before. Dustin apologized ''It's not, sorry.'' ''I can do it.'' Eleven said. ''I'm coming with, the last time I couldn't do a shit, now I will do something. I'll help.'' ''You both aren't hearing me.'' ''I can do it.'' ''We can do it.'' ''No I, Tessa you are not coming with.'' ''Yes El. I am'' ''Okay'' She sighed. ''We can do it.'' ''Even if they can, there's still another problem. If the brain dies, the body dies'' ''I thought that was the whole point.'' Max asked kinda confused. ''It is, but if we're really right about this. I mean if El and Tess close the gate and it kills the mind flayer's army.'' ''Will is part of that army.'' Lucas realized. ''Closing the gate will kill him.'' Mike concluded.

We all followed Joyce into the room where Will was lying in the bed. ''He likes it cold?'' ''What?'' ''It's what Will kept saying to me, he likes it cold. We're giving it what he wants.'' Joyce closed the window. ''If this is a virus, and Will is it's host, then...'' ''We need to make the host unhabitable.'' Jonathan finished Nancy's sentence. ''So if he likes it cold, we need to burn it out of him'' I said. Jonathan, Nancy and Joyce would go to Hopper's cabin to burn the shit out of the mindflayer so it'd leave Will. Hopper, Eleven and I would close the gate. Just when I left the house Robin came running to me and said; ''Please, be careful. I can't lose you, I don't wanna go back to that dark place, I can't go back. I won't survive it, so please stay alive.'' ''I promise, I won't leave you behind, I really won't.'' I hugged Robin, but before I could she kissed me completely on my lips. ''I love you.. Darling,'' ''I love you sweetheart.'' Then I stepped in the car, waited on El and Hop. I saw Eleven and Mike almost kissing but Hopper disturbed it by saying ''let's go'' Bummer... 

On the way to the lab we all got really silent. ''So, what, we're just not gonna talk about it, huh?'' ''About what?'' I knew this wasn't my conversation to join so I kept quiet. ''Oh I don't know. I'm just curious, you know why all of a sudden you look like some kind of MTV punk. I'm not mad kid, I just want to know where you've been. That's all.'' ''To see mama'' Eleven remembers her mama AND papa? Lucky... I can remember small things, like my parents aren't even from this state. God knows, maybe they're dead or have moved.  ''Okay, how did you get there?'' ''A truck.'' ''A truck?'' ''A big truck.'' ''A big truck? Whose truck was it?'' ''A man's.'' ''A man's?'' ''A nice man.'' This conversation got funnier and better. ''Okay, so let me just get this straight in my head, so a nice man with a big truck, he drove you to your mama's and then what? Your aunt Becky gave you those clothes and make-up?'' Would she tell that there's another girl, 008 aka Kali? ''I.. I shouldn't have left.'' ''No.. No this isn't on you kid. I should have been there. I should have never lied to you about your mom. Or about when you could leave, a lot of things I shouldn't have done. Sometimes I feel like I'm. Like I'm just some kind of black hole or something.'' ''A black hole?'' ''Yeah, it's a thing you know... In outer space that sucks everything towards it and destroys it. Sarah had a picture in her book about outer space. She loved it.'' ''Who's Sarah?'' I asked to join the conversation: ''Sarah? Sarah's my girl. She's my little girl.'' ''Where is she?'' Eleven asked. ''Well, that's kind of the thing.. Uh, She uh, she left us.'' ''Gone.'' ''Yeah, the black hole. It got her. And somehow, I've just been scared you know. I've just been scared that it would take you too. I think that's why I get so mad. I'm so sorry, for everything. I could be so... so...'' ''Stupid.'' ''Yeah, stupid.'' ''Just really stupid.'' ''I've been stupid too.'' ''I guess we broke our rule.'' ''I don't hate it by the way, this whole... Look, it's kinda cool.'' ''Bitchin''' ''Okay, sure... Bitchin'' I don't think Eleven completely understood not to go from sad things to happy things because she asked: ''Tessie, who was the girl you kissed and why?'' ''You know how boys like girls?'' She nodded. ''Well sometimes, boys like boys and girls like girls. If a boy likes a boy he is gay, and if a girl likes a girl she's lesbian.'' ''Are you ... Lesbian?'' ''I don't know, there are exceptions, if a boy likes boys and girls or if a girl likes girls and boys they call it bisexual. I'm bisexual or Lesbian, I don't know.'' ''Okay... And who was that girl?'' ''That's Robin... She's my girlfriend.'' ''Girlfriend?'' Hopper and El asked in unison. ''Yes, girlfriend.''
