It was a gonna be a quiet day in the beach house today. No missions were to gone on today, and there weren't going to be any issues with any corrupt gems, since they weren't local enough to be a threat. It was a rare occurrence, but a welcomed one.

Because it meant that it was the perfect day for garnet to gem sit you.

Pearl and Amethyst were in their respective rooms and steven was off with his friend Connie or with Greg.

Garnet sat on the living room couch as per usual, with you in her lap, sprawled out on your back letting her tickle your belly, playfully wiggling around and occasionally swatting and groping for her hand, nibbling lightly at her fingertips when she let you catch them. When you were set down on the floor, she decided to let you play with your visors, watching gleefully as you squeaked at your own reflection in them, looked through them with interest or just chew at them gently. Your teething came to a halt after hearing garnet chuckle softly. With a hum, you look over to the spying gem leader, to see she had an amused smile on her lips.

"You truly are a something special." She hummed, her 3 tricolored eyes shining in adoration. "Just when I thought that fusion was the strongest form of love for a gem." She lowers her hand down to you, smiling as you instictively trotted over to it and lightly sniffed at her gemstone, looking back up at her curiously. "Here's you. The fruit of a gems' love."

There she goes again... whenever she's alone with you, she always brought up that word. what is fusion?

You tilted your head at her in confusion, something that garnet seemed to beam at. "You never realized, love bit?" She brought both her hands down, palms facing you so you could see the two gemstones that were embedded into them. "I myself and a fusion." Your gaze flickered between the two gemstones, eyes wide in both surprise and confusion. You didn't really pay much attention to the gemstones she had, since you were often busy playing, being cuddled or learning human activities from steven, you didn't really have the time to notice she had two gemstones.

You put your forepaws on both gemstones, looking up at her, still unsure of what to make of it. She chuckled softly, itching your head gently. "You see, lil fluff, for me, fusion is a powerful bond that is shared between two gems." She explained.

...wha? The look on your face told her that what she had said flew over your head. She gives a sigh laugh, standing up. "Guess I'll just show you." She states with a shrug. "Stand back."

With a soft murmur of uncertainty, you took a few steps back, unsure of what's to come.

With a wink, she was suddenly engulfed into a flash of light, and the form of garnet suddenly shrank down considerably, splitting into two separate figures. Once the light died down, you were suddenly presented with...

Two new figures!

One was blue and lean with long, fluffy light blue hair that nearly reached past her waist and covered the upper part of her face, much like your bangs did. She wore an elegant, frilly blue dress that covered her feet.

The other was red and had a bit of a stocky built, with a darker red square shaped afro, and an orange headband tied around her head. She was slightly shorter than her blue partner.

Both were smiling at you in amused adoration as your mouth dropped open into a dumbfounded stupor of awe.

Did... she just..? She didn't...!?

Your eyes scanned the height garnet previously stood at, scrambling over to the two figures in a state of confusion. The two figures giggled softly, prompting you to snap your head back and forth between them frantically. The blue gem smiled down at you. "Didn't see that coming, huh?" She said, moving her bangs from her face to reveal she had only one blue eye. This put a crack in your nerves and you skittered back from the two gems, hissing with your fur on end. What did you do to garnet!?

As if she read her thoughts, the red gem reached out towards you. "It's okay! Garnet's still here! ..sorta! Look!" She lifts her palm, showing she still had one of Garnet's gemstones in her palm. The blue one nodded, showing her own gem embedded palm. "See? There's no need to fear us. We make up garnet. But you don't see us often because we love each other so much that we don't want to be apart from one another." To demonstrate, they both share a brief, loving kiss between each other. You tilted your head at the display of affection, relaxing yourself and flattening your fur, as you took a closer look at them.

They did share the same features as her, with the hairstyle of the one and the facial features of the other...

The more you stared, the more sense it made.

"I am sapphire." The blue gem gestured to herself.

"And I'm ruby!" The red gem introduced enthusiastically. "Pleased to meet ya, lil fluff!"

The moment you heard her say Garnet's nickname for you, you chirped in an relief and amazement, scurrying over to the duo with a wagging tail. The two giggled softly and picked you up, giving you kiss after kiss you as you squawked in elation.

After much cuddling and kisses, ruby and sapphire decide to stick around longer with you, allowing you to lay in their laps as you slept peacefully.

"You know, sapphy..." ruby started, stroking your back fur. The latter hummed in acknowledgement, not taking her eye off your tiny paws as she lightly prodded them with her fingers. She wasn't aware of the smug undertone in her red partner's tone.

"...I bet we'd make a pretty cute gemling to."

"..huh?"
