Monomyth (2017)

Announcement

Before I made it to language arts, an announcement was made over the intercom,

"Due to extreme weather conditions, the school day is over. The busses are not running so take whatever actions necessary to get yourselves home. Thank you."

It had to be a student. No staff member would've made that unsophisticated of an announcement. There would probably be another announcement later on that said what really happened.

Everyone started running in my direction like I was some awesome pop star who everyone loved. I knew that wasn't true, but they kept coming. "What are they doing?" I thought. They were still running towards me, slowing down with every step... it seemed like something was pulling them back. Then I saw it. A giant creature had broken through the school and was eating everything, pulling the students into its mouth.
