I was asked once where my safe place was
I've seen the rom coms
where their safe place was in a person
I'd longed to trust someone with that intensity
But no
My safe place isn't someone
My safe place is here
On the lake
On the rocks
Watching sunsets
Hearing waves crash
Having wind blow through my hair
Swimming
Playing cards
Laughing
Singing
Crying
I will never feel as safe as I do here
No person could ever make me feel this safe
I feel like here above any where else
I can breathe
And just be me
