Dream's POV;
"So," Dream hissed and opened his eyes, blinking around in the dim light. "Welcome to my home, Dream," Dream sat up slowly, confused at first, until he remembered what had happened. He was in a dark cave with only a few end rods and glowstone lighting it dimly.
"Where are my friends," Dream demanded hoarsely. His throat was as dry as the desert Wilbur had been hidden in and he coughed a few times, trying to clear his lungs.
"Water?" The man in the mask offered. Dream spotted him walking forward with a bottle in hand. It looked normal, just like a normal bottle of water, but Dream was skeptical. He wasn't even chained up... why?
"No," He hissed. "I don't accept offers from strangers,"
"Smart," The man commented. "But this is actual water, and I don't want you dying," The man added, walking forward and kneeling beside the place Dream was seated. Dream scooted away a bit and glared at the man.
"I don't accept offers from strangers," Dream repeated.
"Very well," The man shrugged, sitting down on the cold stone floor. "So, how's life?"
"Not great," Dream snorted sarcastically.
"Well, I guess that makes sense," The man said. "But you have to understand, Dream, endermen are smart, reliable, and they won't stab you in the back- heck, they won't even get the chance because they can't hold a sword," Dream said nothing, glaring firmly at the man. "I know people have hurt you, they've hurt me too," The man sighed sympathetically. "But endermen don't do that, they can build incredible things, they work together, they speak their own language, Dream. That's really amazing,"
"Yeah, but endermen don't have friends," Dream snapped.
"They don't need friends," The man countered. "Side note, what do you call me? As a name, I mean,"
"What?" Dream said, confused.
"I was wondering, I could make it easier and tell you my real name," The man said. Dream shrugged nonchalantly.
"I don't care," He muttered.
"I think you will," The man chuckled. Dream looked at him, confused and frustrated that he was being held prisoner here.
"Why would I care?" Dream hissed.
"Because," The man hissed a low throaty laugh. "My name is Indigo,"
Technoblade's POV;
"What did you do today?" Chris asked after a moment. Technoblade was sitting beside him up against a tree just on the outskirts of town.
"Woke up, scared the crap out of Karl, pissed off my brother, took a nap, ate lunch," Techno said around a mouthful of sandwich. "All in like, three hours- and the nap was two hours,"
"Wow," Chris said with a grin. "That's pretty eventful,"
"Not even close to my most eventful day," Techno scoffed.
"What was your most eventful day?" Chris asked, shifting and looking at Techno. His hair shone gold in the sunlight and his eyes a blue like no diamond Techno had ever seen.
"The day I met you," Techno said after a moment. He didn't need to say more, Chris nodded, knowing all that he was talking about. Well, all the things he was talking about. So much had happened the day he'd met Chris. He'd stolen potatoes with Phil and almost died, he'd gotten captured and knocked out, he'd woken up in a prison cell, been forced to kill someone, tried to escape, and ended up meeting Vulture and getting one nasty scar across his face. Which is why I now wear a mask. Techno mused, taking another bite of his food. "Greatest day of my life," Techno said sarcastically.
"I'm glad you feel that way," Chris sighed back with an equally sarcasm-laced tone.
"The only reason I didn't kill myself that day was you," Techno said after a moment. Chris looked at him slowly. "The only reason I kept fighting for five years was you, Chris,"
"That's nice," Chris said simply, sounding like he was at a loss of words. "I thought you were fighting for Phil,"
"I was," Techno said. "Three years of my life I spent plotting to kill you, not in a gruesome way, just a normal killing," Techno said. "But after I while I just decided that you were the only good person in that place and I gave it up,"
"That's nice to hear," Chris snorted. "I'm glad you were only plotting to kill me for three years, not the whole five,"
"Yep," Techno said, swallowing the last of his sandwich and brushing his hands together to remove any stray crumbs. A few fell into the soft green grass and Techno sighed, relaxing against the tree. Techno closed his eyes, taking a few deep breaths and sighing quietly. The breeze smelled of distant apple trees and the grass, slowly dying, pickled beneath Techno's fingers. Today was a fairly warm day for fall. He knew it would likely snow soon, but not today. Today was a good day.
It came quick, like a sharp sudden breeze from the north, and Techno let out a huff as someone knocked him to the side and pinned him to the ground. He let out a sharp breath, opening his eyes in surprise as Chris let out a low laugh from above him. "What was that for?" Techno hissed, confused.
"I got you," Chris snickered.
"You got me?" Techno said. "I have no time for your foolish games," Techno spat, half-jokingly.
"I win, Techno. I'm better than you," Chris said, his blue eyes shining with amusement. He was obviously trying to provoke Techno into fighting back, and Techno was going to let the manipulation work. He shifted his hands, grabbing onto Chris's wrists, and shoved him upward but didn't let go. Instead, he turned, still grasping his friend's wrists, and slammed him to the ground, causing a few dead leaves to flutter up around him.
"Oh?" Techno said. "You better than me?" He sneered. Chris struggled a bit but just ended up laughing. Techno joined in, amused by his futile attempt at escape, and released him, rolling onto his back beside his friend and staring up at the colorful trees and pale blue sky that matched both their eyes.
"That's not even fair," Chris chuckled.
"How so?" Techno questioned half-heartedly. "I'd say that our brief squabble was perfectly fair,"
"Nah," Chris said. "I'm tired,"
"And that's not my fault,"
"No, it's George's," Chris sighed "I woke up in the middle of the night thinking there was an earthquake but it was just him. Snoring," Chris scoffed. Techno laughed lowly.
"I slept rather well," Techno said. "Karl doesn't snore, apparently,"
"We're way too happy," Chris sighed. "Dream's gone- might be dead, actually," Techno's smile faltered and then vanished.
"Right," He muttered. "We should probably start acting like adults," He added, sitting up slowly and stretching a bit. Chris sat up as well and looked at the trees around them.
"Let's start thinking up a plan," Chris said. "To save him, I mean,"
"Alright," Techno said, his tone full of remorse as he took in a final long breath of the fall scents. Today was a good day. He mused, pushing himself to his feet and helping Chris up beside him. Their gazes met momentarily and Techno smiled. He didn't think he'd ever forget this nice fall day, and he hoped it wouldn't be the last nice day he experienced.
Chris and Technoblade, bffs.
