Alessia's POV

"By the way, where's Angel?"

"She decided she wanted to finish school in Paris", Alek said.

"Really?"

"Yeah but knowing her, she'll be back. She can't be too far from us", we all laughed, and continued to enjoy dinner.

"So Alessia, how did you and Alek meet? I never got the chance to ask you that when we first met", his mom asked me while she passed me a side plate.

"I- umm well Mrs.."

"Call me Sofia", she smiled as she gave Alek his plate.

"Sofia", her smile grew wider," We met three years ago, when I had first started fighting at the den".

"The den?" his dad asked.

"Yeah, I started young and eventually made a name for myself".

"Really?" Sofia asked.

"Mhm, I go by Dawn but I haven't been fighting these couple of months so it's a dying name now", a small laugh escaped my lips.

"You're the Dawn?!", Alek's dad looked up from his plate. I nodded my head, and his eyes had a small sparkle in them. "No shit!" he slapped Alek's arm, making him choke on a piece of food he was chewing on," I remember you from your first fight! Ever since that day, i've been trying to find a way to get you on my side but stopped when I saw you with Alessandro", when he looked down, i swear i could see dog ears drooping down.

"Well Mr-"

"Dimitri, call me Dimitri", again I saw his ears perk up, as he waited excitedly for me to say his name.

"Dimitri, if you ever need me then I'd be more than happy to help out", he leaned back with a big smile. I grabbed the glass of water, taking small sips," well I wouldn't ask too much from my daughter in law", his words made me choke on the water. "What?" he chuckled," too soon?"

"Dad!" Alek groaned.

"Dimitri, stop teasing the poor girl!" she playfully slapped his shoulder, and within a second he grabbed her hand and kissed it. "Anyway, where's my grandson!"

"Grandson!" my voice cracked as I looked at alek, who was trying to avoid eye contact with me.

"Dad! Stop it!" I reached over and grabbed his hand, he looked over at me and smiled. "Sorry about him", he whispered.

"It's okay", I whispered back, he leaned closer to me, kissing my cheek.

"Awww Dimitri, remember when we were like that?" Sofia asked her husband as she looked at us with loving eyes.

"We're still like that, my love", he kissed her lips tenderly," i'm just happy Alek was able to find someone we were afraid the incident was going to affect him permanently". I could feel Alek tense up, I glanced over towards him to find his face pale," what incident?"

"N-nothing!" Alek looked between his parents, who seemed remorseful.

"Alek, honey-", Sofia couldn't say anything else due to Alek getting up from his seat unexpectedly.

"Alright, we're going to go up to my room", Alek said.

" t-thank you so much for dinner", I started collecting my plate but Sofia stopped me.

"It's okay sweetie, our maid will clean this up", Dimitri rang a small bell and a second later a group of maids came in.

"Thank you again", she stood up, giving me a tight hug, when she turned to Alek he backed away from her.
