(A/N: Heads up, it gets a bit bloody in this chapter so if you're squeamish I will put a line of * before and a line of - after the more gory parts so you don't miss out on too much of the story.)

The next few weeks trudged on. At first Mira went to the factory daily, bringing pastries and meals along to try and mend what had happened. She would wait outside the gates, and when it was clear that Heisenberg wasn't going to let her in she would leave the treats outside in a small crate in an attempt to keep nature out of it. Over the weeks she would visit less frequently, still bringing the food along. Clearly someone was taking it but whether it was Heisenberg or not she couldn't tell. She had left notes in a few of the bags of food she brought, just short ones that told him she was sorry and that she wanted to know how he was doing.

After halfway through the third week, she stopped coming at all. If he wanted space she would give it to him, but at the first sign of him wanting to talk she would be there in an instant. She made sure to always make an extra serving of food if he ever showed up out of the blue but alas, he never showed up. Luiza had tried to cheer Mira up, but seeing as Mira wasn't willing to give up details as to what had her troubled, Luiza could only do so much.

As a full month of no contact was approaching, Mira became restless. She needed to talk to him and make sure he was alright, even if it meant breaking into the factory and hunting him down. Hell she'd even take on all of his soldats if it meant she could see him.

Packing herself a bag full of medical supplies, a fresh change of clothes, and the gun Duke had given her. He had left around the end of the first week so she didn't have him to advise her but she knew she'd probably go through with breaking into the factory no matter what he said. Once her pack was packed, she threw on hiking boots, jeans, and a tank top. It was nearing summer already and while they were in the mountains, it was still getting toasty in the afternoons. Tying a light jacket around her waist, she headed out of the pub, locking the door behind her. She knew the fastest way to the factory bridge by now so she was there within a couple of minutes. Knowing damn well that the gate was going to be locked, she made her way straight to the fence that surrounded the factory and started looking for weak points. At the back of the factory she found a spot that had a pile of scrap along the bottom, but no real connection to the ground. Grabbing the bottom edge she worked a large enough gap that she could shimmy through into the fence. Sliding under, she managed to get sliced by the fence in a couple of spots on the back of her shoulders but she ignored the stinging.

Standing up, she made her way over the stack of scrap and headed straight for the entrance she had gone through on her first errand. Finding that it was locked, Mira went for the main entrance into the factory. To her amazement, it was unlocked. Sliding the door open, she slipped inside and headed straight for the hole she was forced through. Thankfully she remembered her way through the factory enough so she quickly found herself back at the lift. First she decided to check out the forge but found it empty. She made her way through every level until she reached the top. There was one area she hadn't explored in her travels through the factory, and from what she could see it looked like a mine. Seeing as he wasn't anywhere else, she headed inside.

Navigating her way through the tunnels wasn't hard, however she definitely could hear something hacking away at the walls in the distance. Heading towards the sound she stumbled into a room full of soldats. They were methodically chipping away at the walls with pickaxes, not paying her any mind. Knowing she couldn't take them all on at once, Mira began backing out of the room when she stumbled back against a stack of tools. All of the soldats immediately turned towards the sound and began shuffling towards it. Muttering a few choice swears, Mira turned and sprinted out of the tunnels with the soldats hot on her tail.

Making her way to the lift, she hit the button for the doors to open repeatedly. As the doors groaned open, she turned and backed in. Taking out the pistol she shot at the nearest soldats and smacked the button for the doors to shut. "Shit, shit, shit where the fuck is that fucker when you need him?" Finally the doors shut, and she had managed to take out a few of the soldats. Each one exploding in turn. Sighing, she turned around to look around the lift and found a Soldat Zwei charging at her. Nearly dodging it, she fires a few shots at it before realizing her magazine was out. Cursing herself profusely she fumbles around in her pocket, trying to grab another magazine. Dodging another charge, she runs to the other side of the lift and manages to slide the empty mag out before trying to slide the new one in. Continuing to move, she focuses on getting the other mag into the gun.

Finally managing to slide it in, she turns to take aim at the soldat again only to shriek out in pain as one of the soldat's augers pierces into the side of her abdomen. The moving drill shreds the flesh as it slides through her. The soldat rips its arm from inside of her, posing to take another strike but barely misses as Mira doubles over in pain.

The doors of the lift shudder open and she blindly runs out, going for the nearest door she could see through the tears flooding her eyes. Pressing her hands on top of the wound to try and keep pressure on it, she runs through the dimly lit halls only to have another soldat stumble out of a doorway and strike at her. It just barely knicks her shoulder and she just pushes forward, trying to find room where she can barricade herself in.

After running through the maze of a factory for what felt like hours, Mira finally stumbled into the forge and began pushing the work benches in front of the three doors. Ignoring the immense pain that was coursing through her, she manages to block off the doors enough that she should be safe long enough to try to patch herself up the best she can with the supplies she brought.

Slumping to the floor, Mira dug through her pack and pulled out the medical supplies she brought with her. Easing her tank top off, she looked down at the gaping wound. Fumbling with a bottle of healing salve, she does her best to quickly undo the cap. Finally getting it unscrewed she sets it down and tears off a strip of cloth from her now fucked up tank. Soaking the strip, she began to do her best to clean the wound before she bound it up.

It took her about twenty minutes to get herself wrapped up enough to keep the wound from getting worse. She had used the tank top to make a large enough makeshift gauze to keep the healing salve soaked cotton she had stuffed into the hole in place.

-----

In the distance she could hear bangs of metal against metal as the soldats made their rounds. She slid on the extra shirt she had packed and made sure she had her pistol ready for when the soldats eventually made their way into the forge. As she waited, the world around her got fuzzy as the adrenaline began to wear off. Laying herself down, Mira waited as darkness overcame her.

(A/N: Here's a summary for those who didn't read the gory parts; a soldat zwei managed to stab her in the side of the abdomen and she bandaged herself up the best she could.)
