Chapter 33: The Discovery

(Y/N)'s POV
I started to wake up only to find that Prince Alaric was not there. So, I got up and walked to the kitchen. There was a note left saying:

Dear (Y/N),

I'll be out for a while to find fruits. So, don't leave the cottage. There might be danger lurking around. Also, I've already prepared your breakfast. Enjoy!

After reading the note, I saw a plate in front of me on the table. My breakfast consists of bread, baked beans and eggs.

I began to sit down and eat. After eating, I washed the plate and dried it. I began to explore the cottage since I didn't really got a chance to look around before. I started walking upstairs and downstairs. I suddenly saw a lever next to the staircase and I pulled it down.

The staircase opened up and there were stairs leading into a dark room.
'It must be the basement' i thought.

I then began to smell a terrible stench coming from the basement. I wanted nothing more then going back to my room and waiting for Prince Alaric but curiousity got the best of me. I slowly walked down so I wouldn't trip. When I finally got down, it was pitch black in there.

I stood still while letting my eyes adjust to the darkness so that I could see better. After that, I started tiptoeing to the source of the stench. I was horrified when I saw the source.

It was Xander and Flare! They were bleeding a lot. 'W-what...how?!' I shouted as I stumbled back. I hit someone and I was terrified. "You shouldn't have seen that...." The voice says. I looked behind and it was Prince Alaric while smiling creepily.
He suddenly put a cloth in my mouth and I began to pass out.

2 hours later~
I started to wake up with an aching headache. I looked around and tried to recall what had happened. 'I saw Xander and Flare dead...then Prince Alaric was behind me smiling creepily before gagging me with a cloth.

The door opened and reveal Prince Alaric. I shivered and shrink to the edge of the bed out of fear. He sat on the bed and caressed my cheeks while smiling. "Dont worry...i won't kill you..." He said and that confirmed my suspicion of him killing Xander and Flare.

"W-why...did you kill them..." I mumbped out and he started to look angry. "Because they were getting in  the way of our love!" He shouted and I flinched. "O-o-our l-love?" I stuttered. "(Y/N), I love you. That's why I didn't want to marry any of the princesses" he calmly said and hugged me.

"Y-you love m-me?" I asked and he nodded. He suddenly kissed me and I froze. He began to suck my tongue. He bit my lips till they bleed a little and we started a heated make out session. "(Y/N)....i love you...don't you love me? Look at what I've done just for you...for us..." He said. I was about to answer when I heard horses and voices.

The door to my room was then kicked down and guards stood around us. Prince Alaric imediately got up and took out a sword. He began fighting the guards fearlessly. Suddenly, a guard took his sword and ripped open his clothes. He realized it and killed the guard mercilessly.

He started to get weaker as more guards came in and outnumbered him. Then, they began to tie us up while Prince Alaric tried to protect me. Then, a cloth was put into my mouth again. Prince Alaric was also starting to faint.

The last thing I saw before passing out was Prince Alaric hugging me while whispering "I love you and I will protect you, my kitten".

Timeskip to the castle~
I started to wake up and I was in a carriage. I looked around and saw Prince Alaric still asleep and I scored away. 'How could be kill Xander and Flare?! Flare was just a child! And Xander....now gone...' I thought and began to cry.

'How could he?! But....he did it out of love? Has he never experienced love? Is that why the way of him showing love was so twisted?' I thought and looked at Prince Alaric. He started to open his eyes and looked around. He then scooted next to me and hugged me tightly.

I hugged back out of pity and continued to cry. "Don't cry, my love. Its going to be alright..." He tries to soothe me. He kissed me again and I kept crying. A guard started to pull us out when we came to a stop.

We were back at Averylton and standing in front of the castle. They pushed us into the castle till we reached a judgement room. Prince Alaric held my hand tightly.

King Marcus and Princess Evangel were standing there. "Darling! I missed you so much! Where have you been?!" Princess Evangel shouted as she ran towards Prince Alaric and hugged him.

"Where have you two been?" King Marcus asked menacingly. "Tch, none of your business, old man" Prince Alaric retorted. "Why you...why did you run away with this maid of yours?" He continued to question. "Because I love her!" He shouted.

"You are not allowed to love a peasant!" Kind Marcus roared angrily and Prince Alaric just rolled his eyes. "Guards! Take the maid away!" He ordered and guards began to surround me. I began to look for an exit but there was none.

"I won't let you harm (Y/N)!" Prince Alaric said and started killing the guards once more. After killing the guards that surrounded me, he came to me and hugged me protectively.

"I love you, (Y/N)....do you love me?" He asked and looked at me while his irises were trembling.

2: Normal Ending
3: Bad Ending
