That's how it works

The next morning, the whole group gathered in the hall, before entering the building's restaurant. Jeongin explained he had found a beautiful new place to eat, so they asked for their breakfast to-go, and followed him while chatting.

Jeongin took them to a cute little sunny plot of grass, near the gymnasiums, from where they could see the cherry trees and flower beds dedicated to the gardening class.

They sat comfortably on an embroidered tablecloth, and started opening their lunchboxes, full of cakes and pastries. It did not take Hyunjin long to get to know everything about his new friends who really liked talking. Within a week, they had given him another tour of the school, and he now knew all the best spots, shortcuts and hideouts.

He met with the northern students, who were very similar to his comrades from the West, though somehow cuter.

He also caught a glimpse of the South Building's attendees, who, even from afar, looked way more 'normal' than Hyunjin's flashy comrades.

After less than a month, Hyunjin was already at home in his new school, thanks to his enthusiastic friends. But some things seemed still very curious to him. So, one evening, he asked Jeongin,

"Say, Jeongin. Is there a difference between the northerners and the westerners?"

"Of course! Or else there wouldn't be a need for two buildings." This affirmation did not sound as obvious to Hyunjin.

"But then, what's the difference?"

"You'll see, soon."

"And the southerners? Do you know them?"

"No, not at all. I've never even spoke to one of them. Of course, we can't help but judge them based on their looks and upbringings, but the trust is that we don't know them at all."

"You never wanted to meet them?"

"I don't know. I've never been this desperate, I guess." Hyunjin took a second before asking again,

"You seem to know the northerners very well."

"That goes without saying."

"How so?"

"I told you, you'll see."

"But when? I've been here for almost a month now."

"Tell me, when you went to the North, what was the attitude of the northerners towards you?"

"I don't know. Friendly? Maybe a little too friendly even."

"Exactly, so you'll see very soon."

"Please, just tell me!" Jeongin rolled his eyes and sighed, before finally giving up,

"They probably want to have sex with you."

"What!?"

The rest of the group interrupted their discussions to look at Hyunjin. Once Hyunjin apologized, they went back to their talks and Hyunjin turned his astonished face back towards his friend.

"Why are you so surprised? Isn't it a good thing? You don't like being popular?"

"Huh, I don't know...I'm a man."

"I can see you're a man, but what about it? Would you say no to them if they came to ask you to sleep with them?"

"They would dare to ask?"

"Don't be such a prude. Or is it because they're male?"

"N-no! It's just that...it is..."

Jeongin looked at Hyunjin with attention, before open eyes wide and exclaiming,

"Hyunjin, you're a virgin!"

This time, the whole room got silent. Hyunjin and Jeongin had to act like nothing happen for everyone to go back to their business without asking questions. Once the noise increased again, Hyunjin bent over to Jeongin and whispered,

"It's not a crime, right?"

Christopher, who was fully listening since while ago, intervened,

"Of course, it's not a crime! It's completely normal, don't worry."

Hyunjin nodded and gave him a light thankful smile. But now that the whole group was involved in the conversation, Jeongin made them move closer by a sign and started explaining to Hyunjin,

"Listen, Hyunjin. Here, you're at the Kajo Academy, where everything is in excess. Excess of luxury, excess of comfort, excess of pleasure. You know what pleasure is?"

"In what aspect?"

"Never mind. I'll be more direct: here, sex is inevitable. That's just how things work! Just like saying hello, it's almost considered the polite thing to do. And when you're a virgin, you're a target. And if you want to keep being a virgin, you'll have to learn to run fast."

"If you don't yell it around like you just did, people can't know," replied Hyunjin, on an irritated tone.

"People here, they can smell it, trust me."

Afraid this whole issue could take his new friends away from him if not handled correctly, Hyunjin asked,

"Then, what should I do?"

"Oh, don't look so alarmed my friend, you have us. So, we will show you what it means to be courteous at the Kajo Academy."

The whole group brightened up in the prospect of Hyunjin's deflowering. They were so cheerful about it that it made the whole thing way more normal to Hyunjin, and he himself started to feel excited.
