Hyunjin crossed the humongous gates of his new school, leading to an immaculate white paved alley. He had been transferred to finish his second year of high school in this all-boy school for rich kids because of his new stepfather. A lovable man, terribly rich who had fallen in love with Hyunjin’s mother to whom he got married recently. Hyunjin never had the occasion to express how he felt about this change of school, but he hated the idea. Even in his old school, he was never the type to make friends easily, so ending up surrounded by all those snobs did not seem like good news. So, it is with great reluctance that he went to reach the doors of his new establishment.
Hyunjin passed the embellished door and entered a huge hall, completely deserted, with shiny floors and an elegant decoration. In front of him stood two large set of stairs of pink marble separated by an imposing stained-glass window, ornated with what seemed like the school’s coat-of-arms. He forgot his bad mood for a moment to admire the view, when a voice called him out,
“Hello” Hyunjin jumped. “Oh, pardon me, I startled you. You must be Hwang Hyunjin.”
The boy hesitated before answering,
“Yes, I am.”
“Pleased to meet you, Hyunjin, welcome to the West Building! My name is Kim Seungmin, I am the one in charge of class C, the one you've been assigned to." He explained, "You will go to class and sleep in the same corridor as our comrades. We are like a little family. Your luggage is already up there.”
This guy talked at such an astounding speed, Hyunjin had a hard time squeezing in a word.
“Pleased to meet you…as well.”
Seungmin looked benevolent, though intimidating by his confidence. He was about the same height as Hyunjin, his straight black hair almost covering his long eyes. He explained :
“Knowing that the rest of the class went for a little horse ride this afternoon, they won’t be around for another hour and a half I would say. Would you want me to give you a tour of the grounds, or do you want to settle in your room first?”
Hyunjin accepted the tour, he had time to spare after all.
Following behind Seungmin, Hyunjin discovered the beautiful path and gardens surrounding the four buildings of the academy. The four buildings had rather conspicuous names: The West Building, where he would live, The North Building, identical to the first one, The East Building, a little smaller and a little farther away from the central courtyard, where the professors were housed, and the South Building, way less luxurious than the other three, with simpler architecture, where ‘poor’ scholarship holders lived.
Seungmin then took him to see the sports courts, stables, gymnasiums, before bringing him back to the West to show him his room. There, Hyunjin thanked his guide as politely as he knew how and started unpacking, while running an amazed eye on the luxury of the place.

Satisfied of his tour, Seungmin left the building to reach the stables. He did not wait long before seeing about thirty boys enter the place, with their horses. When seeing him, they all smiled brightly and greeted him joyfully. He smiled back and waited for them to finish unsaddling their horses before asking,
“Hello everyone, how was the ride?” They all replied with cheers and he continued,
"I see, I’m glad. I’m guessing you know why I wasn’t with you this afternoon?” The noise withered.
“The new student arrived!” They all cheered and screamed again, clapping and whistling to show their enthusiasm, before calming down again to let Seungmin explain,
“I’ll ask you to be nice and welcoming with him. It’s the first time he ever changed schools in the middle of a semester, and he is used to a rather…different crowd. So, always be considerate and courteous.”The noise started up again and they finished taking care of their horses before following Seungmin inside, asking,
“So? How is he? Is he nice? Do you think he’ll adapt here?”
Seungmin replied politely that they would see by themselves soon enough and changed the subject to ask them about their equine prowess.
