Aden knew this talk was unavoidable. I had held back for almost three days from asking and he had used those three days to distract me.
But today, I wouldn't let him. Glad that the weekend was finally here, I took this chance to make my move.
"Aden," I said as I dodged his leg over my head. I quickly stood and put my arms up to protect my left flank.
"Yes mon amour?" He answered as his fist ran towards my right flank. I narrowly deflected it.
"I want to know what we are going to do about the issue regarding your family and Scott," he hesitated in his advance and I took this as the moment to kick his legs out from under his body. He landed on the floor with a very deep thud, stunned to silence.
I stood there with my hands on my hips, waiting for his words that never came. His face became somewhat impassive and I knew how this was going to end.
"Aden, please. I need to know. It is driving me crazy not knowing what I'm going to do or if Scott will attack again." My words sank deep. He didn't stand or do anything, just stayed on the floor, motionless.
"Aden," I begged and sat down next to him.
"I want to be able to be by your side when something happens. I want to be there for you no matter what. So please, let me help you." I hugged him, his body softly convulsing beneath my arms.
"Sara, I don't know what to tell you that won't get you any deeper into my world. I've already made it dangerous by letting you know about Scott and I." His arms closed on me.
"I know. I want you to trust me and believe that even though I'm just a human, I am strong." Tears poured from my eyes. A sob escaped his throat.
"Sara, the road you are about to take is a dangerous one but it will be by my side, never a moment seperated." I smiled. I always wanted that.
"I would love nothing more than to be by your si-" A sick feeling in my stomach had me pausing in my words and pulling away. I covered my mouth and jumped up, the feeling worse, and ran as fast as I could to the nearest dojo bathroom before emptying the contents of my stomach into the bowl.
Aden was behind me in a moment, rubbing circles on my back comfortingly. My body felt weak as I leaned against the wall, my legs out. I hadn't been sick in years, let alone this bad when I didn't know I was sick.
"Are you okay Sara? You just up and ran out of there. Are you sick?" I shook my head and closed my eyes. I only felt sick to my stomach.
"Its just... my stomach..." My head felt fine but I felt bloated and sick to my stomach.
"Just your stomach? Like, your head isn't hurting or anything?" He put his palm to my forehead. His brows creased for a moment before he shook his head.
"Your not burning up." I was gratefull but why did I just throw up? I wasn't nervous or sick or anything so why was I sick?
"Get my phone," I said. Aden did as I said and got my phone for me since I had only one idea. When he brough it back to me, I dialed Lisa's number. She picked up on the first ring.
"About time you called. I've been dying to hang out sometime." I smiled at her sassy voice.
"Nice to talk to you too. Hey Lisa, could you do me a favor and pick me up a few things on the way over here?"
