When I woke up from my alarm playing one of my favorite songs, Hey There Delilah by the Plain White T's, I forced myself out of bed and over to my closet, grabbing a pair of undergarments, jeans, and a decent shirt. I slumped into the bathroom, the sun shining in through a bathroom window, and hopped into the shower, letting the warm water wake me up.

When I got out, my skin was all red and tingly from how hot the water had gotten. I dressed and went back into my room and checked the time. It was around eleven thirty. I checked my money supply, seventy dollars left, and worked on figuring on how to buy a dress and look soo sexy hot for my date tonight with Scott. We used to be enemies but one day he just decided to kiss me. Yeah, I know that eventually that this could kill my reputation but it was something to pass the time with. Speaking of my date, where was Oak? I usually would have had him licking my face and bouncing on my chest by now. Picking up my keys and phone, I called for him.

"Oak." I called and listened as it echoed throughout the mansion. Nothing. Not even a scratch or whimper. I searched through the mansion, looking in all of the rooms. Finding nothing, I returned to back to my room. He must have gone home or where he came from. Giving it almost no thought, I grabbed my keys, money, and phone. Checking the time, I rushed out the door, making sure to lock it behind me and got in the car, heading to town.

There was a store that Lisa and I liked to visit often called Roses and Thorns Apparel. It is for teenage girls and early twenties women who are looking for the perfect pick-up whenever they go out with someone or are looking for a someone. It was the perfect place for me because they were a little cheap.

Pulling into the parking lot, I went inside. The clerk working the register was the owner I had gotten to know and had always given Lisa and I great prices because we always came so often. Going up to her, I wondered what kind of dress I really wanted.

"Hey Rosa, what's up?" She was dressed in a tight top that only covered her breast and shorts that were so short, it was a wonder they weren't her underwear. She had her hair down on her shoulders, showing off how her golden blonde hair's big curls and defining how blue her eyes really were. They are a light blue that could almost be defined as a dark version of grey - actually, they remind me kind of like Aden's eyes. Though she was usually harmless, she looked surprised to see me.

"Scarlet? What are you doing here?" She practically had to shush herself quiet. I cocked my head to the side while she fished for something under the counter. Bringing up a newspaper, she practically slammed it onto the counter.

"Scarlet, you've been missing for a few days now. Supposedly you ran away." She whispered softly and slid the paper across the counter, attempting to hide it from customers passing by.

I looked at the paper, from the day after I left, and read the headlines. "Betrothed Daughter Runs Away!"

"Uh, what the hell is this? What's with the 'betrothed' part? Like, seriously people, don't you even realize that it was all a forced thing?" Babbling on to myself, I read over the article. There was the occasional "parents are rewarding anyone with information", and "she was last seen around such and such a place". After I finished reading it, I couldn't hold the laugh that escaped from my lips.

"What the hell dude? You are a wanted person who everyone is looking for and you are laughing?" Calming down, I looked up at her seriously.

"I'm right here but they are out there, it's just amusing that’s all." Handing the paper back to her, I looked around. Not finding anything in particular, I walked back to the counter.
