Once we got to the grill I checked my self in the mirror
"Have fun"
"We will, thanks Mrs. Jordan"
"No problem"
Me and Dylan got out of the car and walked to the door of the grill
"Hey you made it" Jake said when he saw us walk over
"Yup" I said putting my hands in my pockets
"Come on we're all back here" Jake said walking us to the back of the grill on the beach
"Who's this" a girl asked Jake
"Monica this is Ashley, Ashley this is Monica"
"It's nice to meet you Ashley" Monica said
"You too" I said
"Oh is this the new girl" a girl with a braid said talking with excitement
"Yeah Adriana this is Ashley" Monica said
"Nice to meet you Ashley I'm Adriana"
"Hey Dylan!" A girl with black hair said waving to her
"Oh that's my friend Lilly, do you mind if I-"
"No no it's fine I'll hang around with Monica and Adriana"
"Ok I'll catch up with you later" Dylan said running over to Lilly
I sat down on a log next to Monica
"So where are you originally from?" Monica asked looking at me
"Well I'm from California"
"So you're a good surfer" Monica said with excitement
"Yeah even though I choked on a wave yesterday"
"And Jake saved her life" a boy said sitting across the fire from us
"Nathan your always butting in aren't you" Adriana said
"Yeah pretty much" Nathan said
"Hey but Jake did save you right, it's kinda what he told me"
"Yeah there was this wave, I got up too quick, and before I new it I was on the beach spitting up water" I said
-the sun was setting-
"Hey guys mind if I um steal Ashley for a little" Jake interrupted
"Oh, no not at all" Adriana said
I got up and walked with Jake on the beach
"So... What is it you need to talk about" I said walking and looking at Jake
"Well... Um..."
"Spit it out surfer boy" I said
"Ok, well I know you've only been here about two days, and I barley know you that well, but I wanna get to know you and... I... uh..."
He was cute when he was nervous
"What" I said stopping and he turned to me
"I... I like you" he said blushing
I breathed out heavily
"What" Jake looked in my eyes
"I like you too"
I got on my tip toes because I was short and Jake and I kissed
We pulled back then Jake held my hand and we started walking back to the grill
They were playing music and dancing, Dylan and Monica signaled me to come over and dance with them so I went over
We danced all night long
When we were all exhausted we set up tents on the beach and slept till morning came
When everyone was still sleeping I got up and walked on the beach by myself thinking of the kiss... And my ex... Austin
