I See You

It was freezing, you could practically hear everyone's teeth chattering. Diana's body shook against her sisters. Both cuddling so close Eleanor could hear her sister's slow heartbeat. Diana was awake staring at her sisters still body, biting her lips as she tried to tell if she could see her breathing.

"You alive?" She whispered, earning a slight giggle from her sister who was now waking up slightly. "No." Diana smiled sitting up slightly looking around at everyone, the realization that what happened, actually happened. It wasn't a nightmare. "Hey, dude. Rise and shine. We're in hell." "Why is everyone up so fucking early?" Eleanor sat up squinting at the girls who shrugged or laughed at her expression. "My head hurts." Diana whispered looking at her older sister who slowly sat straight up leaning in to move Diana's hair getting a good look at her wound that now had dried blood around it.

"It's better than yesterday, I think. At least it stopped bleeding. Try not to touch it." Eleanor took her flannel in her hand, ripping a piece off the sleeve and then lifting her sister's hair up, sliding the cloth underneath and tying it on her forehead. "Covering it will hopefully prevent it from getting infected. We should have done that yesterday but I didn't even think about it." "Thanks Nell. Do you think we'll find painkillers?" "I don't know. Maybe the plane had emergency medical stuff. I really fucking hope so." "Me too." Eleanor looked past her sister's shoulder, meeting eyes with Toni who quickly looked away making her laugh a little.

"People, we're missing a person." "Leah." Leah appeared almost out of nowhere holding a phone in her hand staring at them all with wide eyes. "It's Jeanette's." Eleanor and Dot both stood up at the same time practically running over to Leah. "Let's go to the grave, I wanna know what happened." Dot nodded and ushered them to begin walking, a few others following. They arrived pretty quickly seeing the dug up grave, chunks and piles of sand surrounding it.

"It was in her pocket. I heard it ringing but it didn't seem real. Not that anything does anymore. So I followed the sound and I, um...I-" "You frisked a dead body." "You dug up her corpse and grabbed her phone." Dot and Eleanor both spoke at the same time and then looked at each other for a moment, then looked back at Leah who was slightly nodding, her face filled with guilt. "But then when I finally dug it out of her pocket, it died in my hands. She forgot to tell us about it, but I don't blame her since..."  "She died?" Eleanor asked, looking at Leah who nodded. "Well, that fucking sucks ass. She's dead and so is her phone, great. What a great fucking start to the morn-" Eleanor stopped talking as Rachel spit onto the grave everyone looking at her in shock.

"Fuck. Sorry. But, like, fuck her if she forgot! That could have been our only way out!" "Fuck Rachel, I get your mad but spitting on her fucking grave isn't gonna help." Rachel looked at Eleanor nodding despite her death glare. "But why didn't you wake us up?" Rachel then turned her attention to Leah. "I don't know." "You...you don't know? You hear a phone, and instead of waking us up, you sit there and contemplate what's fucking real and what's not so that by the time you get to the phone-" "Rachel is was confusing-" "I'm not confused at all! You could've found it before it died, but you didn't did you-"
