"You wanna know something I learned about bodies? They don't define us."
"Try not to expect shallow people to love you."
"And we all have to learn to love ourselves without the approval of others.""Everyone is deserving of love. Everyone."
(-NOT from me, this was taken from K-12, the film by Melanie Martinez.)
This scene was about eating disorders, but it applies to everyone. Be kind to yourself, because whatever people say or do to make you feel uncomfortable with yourself, none of it's true. They're just missing out on how awesome you are, it's their loss. Eat 3 healthy meals a day, drink lots of water, don't starve yourself, don't hurt yourself, don't think about ending yourself, you beautiful human being that does deserve a happy life. Because even if it doesn't seem like there's people who don't know what you're going through, there is. There's people who will see you for who you are. There's me. There's people you haven't met yet that care a lot. Keep being yourself, because you are awesome. I'm proud that you made it this far, you can go even further!
This scene made me cry my eyes out and helped me through a lot. Thank you Melanie.
