*Miami's Pov*
-September 14, Monday, 4:04 AM-
I feared the people who got up this early on a regular basis. It was almost impossible for me to have woken up, and I had a good 15 hours of sleep.
I was sitting up straight on my bed, clutching Mr. Strawberry, my favorite teddy bear, to me. If it hadn't of been for Orlando, who was packing last minute stuff into my bag, I would have gone back to sleep.
"-I think so too," he said, as if we had been having a conversation. If we had been then it was only one-sided. He stood up with my duffel bag and placed it on my bed. He reached to take Mr. Strawberry out of my hands, but I just growled at him and shifted away from his hands. My wolf growled too, not liking that he was trying to take something that was ours. "Miami Eleanor Andrews," he fake scolded. "I just want to put him in the bag so that I can put your stuff on the bus. Can I please have him?"
After a second, I gave in and handed him Mr. Strawberry. Of course I trusted Orlando with him. He was my twin.
He put my sacred bear in the bear and zipped it up and grabbed onto one of the handle bars. His other hand reached out to grasp my hand and he pulled me downstairs. Downstairs my parents had gathered at the rail of the stairs, looking excited yet sad.
"Mi-Mi," mom said as she grasped me in her arms. I felt my body calm even more that it had already been and I hugged my mother back. "I am so proud of you baby."
"As am I sweet heart," dad whispered as he joined the hug, kissing my head.
"Well, I feel loved," Orlando said sarcastically which I laughed at before before he made his way outside with my duffel bag.
"I love you mom and dad," I murmured and felt tears gather in my eyes as I clutched them to be, knowing that soon I would be miles away from them.
"We l-love you too, dear," mom said as she choke back a sob. Just the sound made my tears burst.
I sniffled and tried to talk. "I-I-i'll call you guys every day, I promise. It's only a school year," I chuckled trying to lighten the mood, even though we all know the price of being at Cresthaven. If you get kicked out, you come home to your pack with shame. On the other hand, if you survive Cresthaven, you get to go to the Kingdom and pretty much never get to see your family again because you live amongst the Elites and Royals.
We all turned when we heard the bus pull up and honk it's horn. I took one last look at my parents before waving goodbye as I headed out the door.
"I will mind link you guys as soon as I get settled in," I whispered, knowing they would hear.
I stopped right in front of Orlando, blinking the tears from my eyes. I hated to admit it, but I would definitely miss him. We didn't need to say anything as we pulled each other in for a hug. I closed my eyes and allowed his scent to be rubbed against me. Aside from having Grant with me, his scent would be the last thing tied to home I had for nine months.
Soon I pulled away without saying a word to him and turned towards the bus. I practically had to run to the bus to make sure the driver didn't honk again and wake up the entire pack. As I stepped into the bus, the sounds of the voices of other students filled my ears. The next chapter of my life began and a rush of excitement rose up inside me.
"Oh, there's room over here!" A southern voice said. I looked over to the middle rows of the bus and found the owner of the voice: blonde, blue-eyed girl sat very poised. Her eyes crinkled with her smile and her hair was in a side fishtail. "I'm Claudine, from the Guti Pack. You can totally sit here if you want!" She smiled at me and I couldn't help but smile slightly back - her smile was contagious.
"Hi," I said, almost awkwardly. I hadn't ever really gotten along well with girls, but maybe it would be different with her. "I'm Miami, from the Memoir Pack."
"That's an awesome name! How'd your parent's come up with that?" She asked curiously.
"Ugh, it's so embarrassing!" I said, my cheeks reddening at the thought. "You see, my parents thought it would be a good idea to name myself and my twin brother Orlando after the two places they believe we were conceived." I rolled my eyes and hear Claudine start a giggling fit.
"Haha, oh my goodness! That is too funny!" She wiped a few tears from her eyes as she continued to laugh.
I groaned and tried to get her to stop laughing. "See this is why I don't like telling people, it's so embarrassing!"
"Oh girl, you have no idea how much embarrassing stuff my parents do." She collected herself and cleared her throat. "This one time when I left the house to go play down the street, my momma literally chased me down and was yelling the entire way 'Claudine Marie Harrison, do not let the boys try and take your preciousness! Do you hear?' Mind you I was eight years old, eight years old!"
I bursted out laughing as well, ignoring as Grant waved from me across the aisle. I could tell her and I would become great friends.
*Edward's POV*
-September 14, Monday, 7:30 AM-
The limousine my parents and I had rode in came to a complete stop, showing the place I would be spending the next several months of my life. My wolf growled inside me, being his stuck up self, not liking this place already. Of course, I didn't want to stay here either, but my parents did. Plus it would help out the pack.
"Eddie, thank you so much dear, for doing this," my mother said and I turned to give her a small smile before my face went blank of emotion. She placed her hand on my knee and squeezed it. "Your father and I are so proud of you. We understand that it is hard for you to be so far from the Kingdom and pack, but you know how much this will help overall." I did know, but it wasn't ever easy to leave your pack.
"I will be fine, mom," I told her, my voice soft to soothe her nerves. Knowing that wouldn't be enough, I used my empathy power and calmed her.
She smiled at me, thoughtfulness showing on her face as she leaned in and kissed my cheek. "I love you, Eddie."
"I love you too, son," my father said, pulling me in for a hug. I felt my nerves calm as well, and silently thanked my mom. "You are making us proud."
With that said, I exited the vehicle and made my way up to the principal, who was waiting for me just outside Cresthaven's large doors.
"King Edward, you do not know how honoured I am to have you be a guest teacher at Cresthaven." Clarissa, the Head Master, said as she stood from her bow, a huge smile on her face.
I nodded to her and went to shake her hand before a breeze of strawberry and sugar hit me. It was alluring. Lifting my head up, I tried to breath in more of the scent, but it had passed.
My wolf growled at me and paced back and forth inside of me, 'Find that scent, human.' He barked at me, but I was just as clueless as he was. I hadn't the slightest idea where the scent came from.
"Is something wrong, your highness?" Clarissa asked, sounding so fused.
I snapped my head to her, suddenly feeling irritated. "No," I snapped before making my way inside. "Where will I be teaching, Mrs. Cain?"
