Chapter 3
Mirrored

The next morning seemed as peaceful as any other morning San could experience but today's morning was slightly more peaceful as he slept snuggled into Hongjoong's chest with a small smile on his face. Hongjoong's scent would ask him to sleep more and not get up just yet but the feeling in his stomach was serious, San had to get up no matter what. Sleepily, San got out of the grip of Hongjoong making sure not to wake the other up as he made his way to the bathroom.

He felt really tired and nauseous and before he could even open his eyes probably, San had to make a run for the toilet only to bend down immediately, throwing out the contents that resided till a few minutes ago in his stomach. After a few minutes of calming himself down, San looked up before grimacing and having to look down again to throw up. The other outside the bedroom must have heard some sounds as he found his sleep greeting him goodbye as he got up rubbing his eye sleepily.

But as soon as he recognised the sound of his lover, he jolted up from the bed and made his way straight to the bathroom, only to find San kneeling on the floor, his head hung low as he constantly threw up. Immediately making a run to his boyfriend, Hongjoong removed the slight fringes that stuck to San's forehead from the sudden sweating after throwing up, as he knelt down beside him rubbing his small palm up and down on San's back. San just panted every now and then only to throw up again.

Hongjoong couldn't believe that San had been throwing up constantly for 15 minutes now as he just rubbed his back speaking comforting words to him every now and then. As for San he had just been throwing up too much to speak anything. San could literally feel his stomach fully empty yet he still couldn't stop. His throat burned from the feeling as slight tears pooled in his eyes from the pain.

Finally, for the first time San hadn't thrown up in the next ten minutes as he still stayed kneeling at the floor waiting for the inner assault of his body to start again on him until he realised it was over. Hongjoong hadn't stepped away from San's side as he still rubbed his back while removing his fringes from time to time. Sighing and turning away in his position to get up, San slowly got up on his slightly wobbly legs as he started walking to wash his mouth. The feeling was awful and he didn't want to look at Hongjoong with it.

Hongjoong raising his eyebrows, got up as well before following San, his concerned expression not leaving his face. As San bend down to the running water's level before starting to rinse his mouth and later his face, Hongjoong just watched him do so until San tiredly looked up at his reflection in the mirror.

Water droplets dripped slightly from the fringes on his forehead as he closed his eyes for a second before opening them up. Hongjoong followed his gaze with San's as well. But what he saw in the mirror got him to shout out in fear as he immediately felt his legs go weak. Hongjoong fell down on his butt as he felt the picture creep through his space of memory in his mind as well as his heart.

San, surprised at the sudden action widened his eyes and made a run for Hongjoong. Kneeling down and going towards him in a gesture of comfort and a hug, San found Hongjoong shutting his eyes in fear and moving away from him. "Joongie, what happened? Are you alright?" San asked as he tried repeating his action only for Hongjoong to move back further until he found his back hitting the wall.

San didn't move towards Hongjoong much, in fear of triggering him more if that was even the case as he sat there. "Joongie, you alright?" San asked softly until he saw Hongjoong rub his eyes harshly as if trying to clear his vision even when it was ear already. San was confused. "J-Joongie?" San asked getting more worried as Hongjoong doesn't answer him until he sees his breathing get back to normal as he looks at him still a little shaken from what he saw in the mirror.

Hongjoong remembers the mirrored self of San. His mouth dripping blood as he looked like a blood thirsty monster. His eyes reddish purple with red veins emerging from the corner of his sharp eyes stretching on his cheeks. Dark black eyelashes with dried blood on his temples with hair all black with red streaks. His skin, all pale as if he was dead. All in all San looked like a monster and Hongjoong doesn't know if it was his own mind making things or he truly saw it. He was shocked and terrified at that time.

Blinking several times to make sure he was alright now, Hongjoong nods multiple times before stuttering out his words. "Y-Yeah i-i am a-alright. J-J-Just thought I s-saw something." Hongjoong shakes his head until he sees San extend his hand with a relieved smile. "Okay, come on then." Hongjoong looks up to see San smiling tiredly before he smirks to San. "Shouldn't I be the one helping you right now? Come on, come with me." Hongjoong chuckled before grabbing San's hand and getting up with him.

Before San could walk further though, Hongjoong had bend down slightly and picked him up as San yelped in surprise out of a sudden at that action, until he heard Hongjoong chuckle. "Ayy come on, you still need to rest. You were just throwing up a minute ago." Hongjoong started walking with San's arms wrapped in a loop on his neck as San stayed quiet all the while smiling at Hongjoong.

Slowly and carefully, Hongjoong reaches the bed as he takes his time into laying San down. As San felt the soft fabric of the wrinkled bedsheet in contact with his back, he relaxed into it. He must agree, he was a little exhausted with all the throwing up a while ago. "Your temperature feels normal so you sure don't have a fever which is good. But I wanted to ask you something, Sannie." San lets his vision move along with Hongjoong as he finally feels the bed dip slightly, Hongjoong now laying beside him.

Nodding slightly with no idea of the question, San waits as Hongjoong extends his arms to pull him closer and starts playing with his locks. Chuckling slightly, and leaning in to the touch, San closed his eyes waiting for Hongjoong to question. "Where did you go last night?" All the comfort that rested within San went away to change into nervousness and hesitation as he opened his eyes to look at the blue haired one. Hongjoong seemed clueless and only worried for him but who knew that the answer wasn't something Hongjoong would like. Feeling Hongjoong's eyes on him in question, San figdets nervously gulping a little. He wasn't sure what to do anymore.

What should he tell Hongjoong now? After how Hongjoong seemed so worried.
