Hi all. I just wanted to include a glossary with this series because I use a lot of abstract Japanese terms in this poem, and rhyming was a factor. So, I wanted to provide a guide to the pronounciation of odd words.
Sakura [Sack-her-uh] - Japanese for cherry blossom.
Amaterasu [Am-at-ter-as-su] - A white wolf, the series' protagonist. Also called "Ammy" for short.
Issun [Iss-soon] - Amaterasu's little bug-like companion. Also: Japanese for one-inch.
Nippon [Pronounced as suggested] - The fictional country in which the series takes place
Kamiki [Com-ee-kee] - A small village in Nippon
Kamui [Com-oo-ee] A tundra in Nippon
Ryoshima [Rye-oh-shee-mah] - The coast of Nippon
Susanno [Soo-soon-oh] - A drunken slacker
Tama [Tahm-mah] - A firework-making pyromaniac.
Kushi [Koo-shee] - The local sake brewer in Kamiki
Sake [Sah-kee] - Japanese rice wine. Also spelled as 'saki'.
Shinshuu [Shin-shoo] - A large field with hills and valleys in Nippon.
