A moment of normalcy

"I don't have time to pick up the papers Keith! I've got 6 custom dresses to sew, a mural to paint at 7pm tomorrow that I haven't done the sketches for or picked up the right paint for, my new clothes rails haven't arrived so I have 26 steel pipes to paint and craft into rails by tomorrow morning before the first opening not to mention I'm still fucking pregnant and wanting to throw up every 5 minutes- can't you just forge my signature like a normal person?"

Morgan heard Athena's ranting down the phone as soon as he stepped into the building, a small chuckle came from his chest as he heard her familiar rambling and saw her speeding past with various boxes, dresses and fabric draped over her shoulders, paint covering her, voluminous hair in a clump on the top of her head with 5 pencils she had forgotten about stuck in there- one flew out as she turned and saw him with a smile.

"Hey handsome" she winked at him before shaking her head and going back to her phone, walking up the stairs and continuing her conversation, "no I wasn't fucking talking to you Keith."

Morgan laughed and looked around the shop- surprised every time he came in and saw how much she had done.

It looked beautifully grand, ornate, fresh and vintage all at the same time. There were plants hanging and covering the whole celling in a frame she had handmade, the huge glass windows and doors that were painted with a brassy gold at the store front let the sunset dance on the leaves. She had ripped out the flooring and restored the dark wood herself, restored all the bookshelves of the old library and had various stock and display on it- all of it she had made.

She had celestial patterns on the back shelves of the bookcase on a dark blue, subtle dusty colour that span across all the walls,

She had layered various rugs on top of each other that she had made and was selling at the back of the store where the two feature metal staircases were going up.

The hundreds of dresses and co-ords she had hand-sewn were all thrown about carefully in cloth bags since her extra rails hadn't arrived but other clothes were all out on display on the library shelves she had ripped from the walls and replicated like old library ales near the back of the store- above it was a mural of the store name in a italic, beautiful hand painted font that read:

'Moon lit happy endings"

Morgan heard her hang up the call from upstairs as he heard the sewing machine start up and her phone ring again which made her mutter various swear words before answering it politely in a complete tone shift that made him laugh as he came up the stairs to see her.

"Hi there how can I help you?"

He chuckled at her conversation as he placed down the take out he brought for them since she had been spending a lot of late nights there in the last few weeks to prepare for her opening day tomorrow and often forgot to eat or come back for dinner.

"That's really sweet of you to say thank you, I'll have to check my calendar since I'm not with the tattoo studio and don't really do tattoos myself anymore but I'll jot down your number and let you know about doing a design for you if that's okay? Okay cool, thanks" she hung up and sighed.

"Fuck dude- when did everything start happening at once? When did time just like stop existing and everything start happening at once? Who thought it would be a good idea for me to do all this shit? Oh right, it was me- what a dumbass."

Morgan laughed and walked over, planting a soft kiss on the top of her forehead as she continued to sew somehow, finish sending an email on her phone, write in her diary to schedule in the tattoo appointment and talk to Morgan all at one.
